5.0 out of 5 stars A "must have" book for serious harmonica players, June 17, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Harmonica Americana (Paperback)
I am relatively new to the harmonica (and music for that matter) I was looking for something to teach me not only how to play the basics but something that would provide me with the techniques to understand how experts do it.

Harmonica Americana provided both... and then some. The book is well written in easy to understand language. There are several scores that go from basic to advanced and there are additional instructions to take even the most advanced pieces to a new level. I've read 4 other books on the subject and none even come close. If you are thinking of taking up the harmonica or if you are a long time player looking to improve... I highly recommend this book. It's an easy read that only takes a few hours but you'll undoubtedly keep referring to it for a long time to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Choice, January 15, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Harmonica Americana (Paperback)
If you are new to the harmonica and do not care for (or understand) a lot of theory, this is the book and CD to begin with and keep for future reference. I have tried several other books and CD's and got totally lost in the mucical notes and theory. I keep coming back to Jon's publications.
