5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent series, November 16, 2004
This review is from: Harmonies of The'Net (Questar science fiction) (Paperback)
I loved this series. A story about messed up people in a confused and dangerous world -but things turn out okay because of love and faith. And its all set in a scifi universe of space age exploration and a political background full of intrigue and machinations, but the story itself is firmly grounded in the experiences of the hero, Stephan Ridenour, a most tortured soul, who would do anything for some love and validation. Poor boy!

5.0 out of 5 stars A weave of cosmology and characters, expertly crafted and executed, September 12, 2011

This review is from: Harmonies of The'Net (Questar science fiction) (Paperback)
I really loved the story. I especially love when sci-fi/ fantasy delve into the ineffable, the spiritual and cosmic realms for which there are no ultimate, quantifiable answers. The final book completes the journeys for the different characters in ways that are satisfying, without necessarily creating the "happily ever after," so common in lesser writers. I suspect this is a series I will hope the author revisits at some point, to update the timelines of these people and their paths.

As a healer, I will note, there were some components that truly hit the mark in this story. Information and perspectives that were extremely well handled, by someone who also grasps a synergy between the very new, of technology, quantum physics and virtual-realities, and the very old, traditional spirit-realm that has existed long before modern technology. Technology and science has gifted those working in the unseen realms, with a cosmology modern culture can understand, and a vocabulary to serve in explanation and description. Jane weaves the seeming disparities together into a story that also reflects a world that struggles to reconcile the two components of science and soul.
