Harmonium: Scholarly, Insightful, Well-illustrated,
By A Customer
This review is from: Harmonium: The History of the Reed Organ and Its Makers (Hardcover)
Ord-Hume managed to weave the harmonium's history into a readable, cogent whole. This well-illustrated text also includes valuable appendices about one important maker(Mason&Hamlin), and stop lists of widely-varying instruments. This book is a touchstone for the reed organ enthusiast, but appropos too for one interested in the development of craft/industries in the Victorian Age
