this plug installs very easily. the instructions that come with it explain every step. it took me about 15 minutes to install it and it sealed perfectly. you will need silicone. it is so nice to have a drain plug on my kayak now, it saves a lot of time.

Very Good product,
I wound up getting two of these. It worked great on my used Bliss Stick Freestyler which did not come with a drain plug. Found the flat spot, drilled the holes, installation was quick and easy. Follow the directions carefully and try to put something (thin plywood) inside the boat under the holes to prevent drilling into the bottom of your boat.
FYI - we tried installing the second one on an old Perception 3D for a friend who'd lost his plug. You're better off finding a replacement with the correct threads. The perception has a recessed plug hole. This made re-drilling the holes more challenging and we wound up using a fair amount of liquid nails to seal and secure. We used a 3/8 drill bit (per directions) but for some reason the retainer nuts wouldn't grab on the second boat. Works fine now but it was a little sketchy at first. Just make sure the screw holes aren't too big. So - great product when the directions are followed to the letter. I highly recommend drilling the screw holes slightly undersized at first so the retainer nuts get a good grip.

Works as advertised,

Went on just as it said it would. Be certain you find a perfectly flat place on your kayak to apply it. My boat is one big curve and the place where I wanted to put it was not quite flat. Eventually, after looking around the boat I found a small flat depression on the hull which turned out to be the spot designed for it. Drilled out the hole and it went right in. It's designed so you do not have to have access to the boat interior - no reaching inside.
