Graco Harmony Highchair - Perfect for a special needs baby!,
By
This review is from: Harmony High Chair - Windsor (Baby Product)
I have been looking for a high chair that will help my son sit properly. I hope this review increases the stars on this product because it deserves it.
My son has Down Syndrome, Trisomy 21 and I can't find a high chair that will give him the ability to sit up correctly and be able to eat comfortably at the same time, the Graco Harmony Highchair was able to do both! The 5 point harness gives him the support he needs in the upper torso and the recline feature of four settings allows him to "kick back and relax" if he needs to. I like the wash off fabric on the seat, very nice and though it doesn't hold itself down with clips attached to the seat itself, it stays in place nicely. The tray sits close enough to him, but doesn't push into his stomach, giving him a little extra support. Also, I love the removable snack tray and how easy it cleans up. Also, when it's in use it's nice to use the seperate compartments to show him different colors of food. I like the mini snack tray too, that will come in handy when he starts finger foods. The only negative comments I would make is that it took a bit to get the legs into the sockets when setting it up and it doesn't glide as easily as I would like across the kitchen floor, but it doesn't scratch either. If you're looking for a special needs highchair that is affordable (as many of these types of chairs run up to $500), this is the chair for you. Plus, this chair looks normal and functions normally, making us and our son not feel like he's different from everyone else because he needs special equipment to help him sit up straight. Lastly, I love that this chair will grow with our son and that it's so light weight. One reviewer said they thought it wasn't safe, I totally disagree, I think if you set it up properly it works well for the price and style. No, it's not the Cadillac of highchairs, but it's pretty good for the price and quality. Thank you Graco, nice job!

I am tired of fighting this chair,

This chair seemed pretty good at first but now that my little one eats crumby things its a gigantic pain. the crumbs get in all the nooks and crannies and I have to *completely* disasemble this stupid chair at least 3 times a day to clean it. I am sick of it. The baby food gets stuck in the crevases and ruffles as well so i have to wash this every feeding as well and hang it out to dry. EVERY TIME. *sigh* get something easier to clean like one of those wooden ones.

Not so easy,

We have only had this high chair about a week, but it doesn't seem to be all it's cracked up to be.
Pros: I saw a few reviews that said it was very difficult/complicated to assemble. I did not really have any problems at all. Our 4 month old daughter is just getting into eating more solid foods (rice cereal, etc) so it is very messy. We have not had any issues with the clean up thus far. The 5 point harness does appear to be very sturdy, although we have not used it yet as she is not in her chair until we are right there ready to feed her. It is very easy to move around, almost to a fault (see Cons below). It does have numerous height adjustments to fit to your table, as well as a number of setting for the recliner. Cons: The "one-hand" adjustment requires more than one hand, plus your foot to hold the chair down. I do not have any major issues with the recliner, although I can see how it could be extremely difficult for a number of people to push the handle down and adjust the recliner at the same time using only one hand. It is extremely easy to move around, even when the locks are on. We have linoleum floors in our kitchen/dining room and the wheels just slide across it like glass. I don't think it is so bad that we are going to return it or anything, but if we did need to buy a new one I would definitely look at some others first.

not easy to use,
By
This review is from: Harmony High Chair - Windsor (Baby Product)
I bought this highchair mostly because I liked the looks of it, it fit well with my kitchen decor. It took about 1/2 hour to put together, every piece was separate. What I dislike the most about it is that the tray is almost impossible to use with one hand. Also, it doesn't get close enough to my son who is five months old, but loves being up with the rest of the family. The tilt also doesn't move easily with one hand which is also very inconvenient. Overall, I would not buy this high chair again.

Another great item from Graco,
This review is from: Harmony High Chair - Windsor (Baby Product)
Our daughter started out with the Linkadoos chair and at 13 months we had to take it to grandma's house because we just didn't have room for it in our new house. We started using a booster seat and it works great for meals but she just wasn't happy in it once meals were over. She insists on being in the kitchen while I cook or clean and during those times she has to be secured in her chair for safety reasons. She also loves to watch TV in the kitchen...smallest screen in the house but when she hears the Koala Brothers or Higgletown Heroes that is where she heads. So it became clear to us that once we had finished remodeling the kitchen that we needed to get her another highchair plus with another one soon on the way we knew we would get plenty of use out of it.
There were a few minor issues with the Linkadoo chair that I really didn't like so we opted to bypass all the Fisher Price chairs. That left the Evenflos and Graco. The Evenflo chairs seemed to be really cheaply made in comparisons to the rest and the reviews for most of them are terrible so we opted for the Graco. We've only had it two days but I think we made the right decision. I love the way they make everything to match. You can get a chair, Pack N Play, swing, car seat, stroller and diaper bag match all to match if you want to. And their patterns and colors are more subdued and easily matched to your decor if you choose to go in that direction. Her old chair just seemed to be out of place in our new house simply because it was such a bright blue. Our old house had a blue kitchen but the new one had a taupe kitchen and that thing just looked odd in there. This one seems to fit right in and looks like it belongs there. I also love the styling. It is smaller than the Fisher Price chairs and sheer design makes it more functional. The legs are bowed on the Graco so they easily slide under for her to sit at the dinning room table with us. I also like the added security of the snack tray. Between the 5 point seat belt and that tray there is no way she is getting out of that thing even if the tray is off. The design of the seatbelt is also great. You have to slide the shoulder straps into the waist strap and then buckle. It's also very easy to adjust. The should and lap belts both adjust. It is great for a squirmy toddler. We also really love the snap in tray. It is great for feeding her what we eat. I can grab it and fill it up for her before I season everything. By the time everything else is to the table her food is the perfect temperature and she is ready to eat with us. Then it goes right into the dishwasher. The snack tray is also great for afternoon treats. She loves Goldfish and this is perfect for them. There is a spot for them and her sippy and she doesn't have the constraints of having the tray on the chair. She really likes not having the tray on there...I guess it makes her feel more independent. The only draw backs that we have found is that the tray doesn't snap in as tight as the Fisher Price one did so that first night she was able to pop it loose. My husband told her no and nudged her hand and she hasn't messed with it again. Also don't be fooled by the folding claim. Yea the leg with fold up but it's still just as bulky to try to store and it's a pain because it can't stand on its own folded. It also has a bib bar on the back. That is useless to us because we use Bibsters but I guess if you use the regular ones it would work. Then there is the cover. It's great because it comes off easily to wash and after one washing it came out looking great. But it doesn't really have anything to secure it with. It stay in place just fine but the sides are pretty much open and she had tons of peas and macaroni down there after dinner. But then the cover slides right off and you can clean it very easily...much more so than the Fisher Price. The main drawback is the assembly. If you are a high-strung, emotional pregnant woman please allow your husband to help you...at least with the legs. They are a total pain! You have to wiggle the front ones in just right and align them or they will not budge! It took us four attempts to get them to slide in. Then you have to slide the plastic cross piece over the back legs and then pop a plastic piece into place so the wheels can attach. I thought we would never get those things to line up right and snap together! It's just one of those things when your pregnant that will annoy you to no end and make you want to choke the Graco people. Just let him do it and enjoy a snack while you watch! :-D We decided before our daughter was born that Graco was the only brand to consider when it came to play yards and we have since decided that is also true of highchairs.

HORRIBLE CHAIR!,
By
This review is from: Harmony High Chair - Windsor (Baby Product)
I have been using this chair for about 4 months and its already broken. One of the legs fell off. When I called Graco about it, they acted like it was no big deal and told me they'd send me a new one in six weeks because the part is on back order (leading me to beleive I am not the only person with this problem) Well, after 2 months I've received nothing. I emailed Graco and got no response. I've called only to hear that the part should be on its way "momentarily." And now I have a safety hazard for a chair no where to feed my daughter.
DO NOT BUY THIS CHAIR!! There are plenty of other chairs in this price range, keep looking. You don't need your chair to look nice or match if its going to be a safety hazard right?

Features are not "one handed",

I also bought this highchair because it matches my decor. The fabric is very nice and soft. I put it together myself and had a hard time, especially with the front legs. The "one handed" height adjudgement and recline is not one handed at all. I can barely do it with two hands. I have only had this chair for a few days and it works but is not as easy to use as the fisher-price aquarium high chair.

A nice chair,

This review is from: Harmony High Chair - Windsor (Baby Product)
I bought this chair so I could match the decor of my daughter's things, plus it was the only chair that was cute and girlish and had a 5 point harness. Unlike the playpen this highchair is actually worth the money... it is easy to use and clean up. I feel it is safe, so much so that I leave my daughter in it while I clean up the kitchen.
I only gave this chair 4 stars, because I have a breakfast island and the chair isn't tall enough for her to be level with the rest of the family.

Great for my Grandchildren!,
This review is from: Harmony High Chair - Windsor (Baby Product)
The sage green color and the little toile print is so pretty and very appropriate for both girls and boys. I like the fact that the cover is washable, soft, and comfortable. It is not made of a typical plastic that will eventually crack, peel and become unsightly. I have six grandchildren in all shapes and sizes, and the Graco,Harmony highchair is easily adjustable and can be folded and stored away between visits. It is strong, safe, and reliable. I am confident that my grandchildren are secure when they are buckled into this quality highchair.

I have to stuggle to raise and lower this high chair. It does look great in my kitchen--but, the fabric seat gets dirty so quick. one big mouth wipe against the side and i am working on taking the thing apart & off to wash.(New mothers certainly do not have this sort of extra time!) i assume having the pad washed this much will fade and look worn soon. THe wheels do not help roll the chair around..it seems more like sliding even when the little brakes are off. And, lastly...the tray doesnt seem too sturdy when attached. There are better ones out there for a better price! P>S the dishwasher safe trays do not fit in any normal size dishwasher!
