Harmony House's Three-in-One Air Purifier, Humidifier and Air Freshener

We got one of these and three of the other air purifier -- the one that is topped with a green leaf. The plastic bottoms are interchangeable even though they are austensibly different products from different manufacturers -- one from Thermax and one from Harmony House.

We traded in our HEPA Silent Comfort air purifier because it is noisy and, while it works, doesn't cleanse the air sufficiently of cigarette smoke. We bought two of these to try in our 3,500 square foot house and immediately decided to buy two more. It's remarkably quiet and sitting two yards from a person smoking, I can't smell the cigarette.

In addition to a reduction in allergy symptoms -- red eyes and runny noses, we've noticed the increase in humidity has reduced the natural dryness that comes from living in the desert. We're still waiting,wondering and hoping we'll notice a reduction in the need to dust. It seems logical that these air purifiers would also trap the desert dust from the air.

This is a great product and we're very glad we tried it.

New Information:
We've had the purifiers almost a month. We noticed buildup under the hood from the water. It isn't easy to clean because the top -- the area where all the electronics are -- doesn't come apart. There doesn't appear any easy way to clean the hard water spots.

I wrote to the manufacture to ask if there a way to disassemble the purifier to clean the top.

This is a cute gadget and serves its stated purpose well. It's easy to use and doesn't take up much space on the nightstand. It is rather noisy, but I needed white noise to drown out outside distractions. It does seem to help filter the air, but the scent diffused when you put aroma oil in the water only lasts for about 1/2 hour.My only complaint is the plastic basin, which is already scratched from wiping it out after every use - perhaps a sturdier plastic would hold up better?

I have 2 of these "3 and 1 air freshners" manufactured by Harmony House. They really work fast and clear the air. I suffer from allegies and find that they work just as well or better than the larger and more expensive hepa filters that I have. The aromatherapy is better than the other brands of water filtered air purifiers. It uses natural tea tree oil to disinfect the water, so the mist is cleaner and more sanitary too. The aromatherapy is more expensive than the competitors' oils, but Harmony House's product is better. If you compare it to real aromatherapy oils, it does not seem so expensive. Apples to apples it is a better product. I dump the water when it gets cloudy after a day or two. I like the quiet noise. I have one in my bedroom and another in my home office. I would give the unit a perfect rating except that I am skeptical about its ability to humidify a dry room I haven't used it for that yet in extreme conditions, which will likely be upon us here in NY soon, when the outdoor temps drop below freezing. The reservoir seems too small to make an impact, but, I will say that I have not been uncomfortable and dry in the rooms where it has been in use. I read reviews of similar products from other manufacturers and Harmony House's unit does not leak or leave water marks. It seems to be a better unit, although I have not used the others at all.

I live in an extremely dusty environment where you can smell the dust in the air. I bought this item in hopes that it would work as well as the Homedics one my friend bought a few years ago. It definitely doesn't do ANYTHING. It's a glorified, over-large air freshener that smells great for only an hour or two no matter how much scented oil I put in it. It collects more dust in the air ON it than in it. Every time I change the water, it's still as clean and clear as when I put the water in. I keep hoping it just needs time to break in, but it's definitely not breaking in. It's been a month. I'm about to just toss it and live with the dust in the air. Worthless.

My sister-in-law had purchased one of these when I was on vacation and I fell in love with it. I wasn't crazy about the leave design so when I found this seashell, I just had to have it. I can barely hear it, soothing to watch the water. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating. Don't like the scent it came with. The product is wonderful though!!!

I was a little hesitant to buy this. I own two Rainbow RainMates and I wanted to stick with them but as I was ordering I saw that this one could ship faster and it looked the same. It only took 11 days to make it to me. I recieved the fragrances the day prior but this also came with three fragrances.
I couldn't wait to get back to my room to set it up. My room is actually a 7'x20' container that has been converted into a room. As you can imagine, dust gets in when I open the door but never gets out; thus the reason I really wanted this.
I hooked it up, filled it with water, added some Green Apple fragrance and started it up. I left for chow and came back about 30 minutes later. The room finally smelled tolerable and not like funk. After about an hour, the apple smell was gone but the funk smell hadn't returned.
I left it on and went to bed. When I woke up I was anxious to see how much dirt and dust it trapped. After seeing it, I wasn't so anxious anymore. What I saw was a brownish-gray colored water. All I could think was, that was what I was breathing every day.
The good news is that I have had it running in my room for the past 4 days and I no longer wake up with my nose dried out because it also adds moisture to the air; and the funk smell still has yet to return (even without adding more fragrances).
I look at it this way, this does just as good as my two I have back home and for half the price. Your choice, but if I had to do it again, I would definitely opt for this air purifier.
Also, love that I can just dump the water and add new. The guy next door to me can't use his purifier because he is still waiting for new filters to be mailed out. I told him he should order them from Amazon, my stuff got here quick.

My mom had one when i was at home and i loved it! there are lots of different stuff you can put in it that you can purchase from walmart an other stores. it really keeps your house fresh and smelling good.

To start it doesnt come with what is pictured. Mine came with one large green apple scented oil and two sample scents. A friend of mine got during Christmas a Homedics air revitalizer which works extremely well. It takes care of a 2200 sqft house with two dogs and a cat. So I wanted one of my own but unfortionatly they are no longer sold. So I purchased this one since it had the best reviews. It is very disapointing. The green apple is not very strong and doesnt fill the small dinning area and living room of my 750 sqft apt. This thing is out dated in design and looks like something that would go in a vacation beach house. I will try some other oils and hopefully it will work well enough so I dont feel like I wasted my money.

For a low priced air wash unit, this one is okay. It does a good job of aromatizing a room and humidifying. It takes a while to eliminate cooking odors (we use it in the kitchen). For the price it's definitely worth it.

it is a very good odor eliminator, i placed it in my kitchen after using it for a night. my nasal passages did not feel different after using this product so i seriously would not recommend this as a humidifier. it is quite a noisy, too. like other reviews you could call it white noise and be lulled into sleeping, but it for those who likes complete silence when sleeping you will not like this product.
