Like the previous reviewer, I don't often write reviews either, but I had to regarding this ridiculous story. There is ABSOLUTELY no character development, Harm and Jena meet in an elevator, her bathing suit pops open and instead of wrapping her towel around herself, she allows him to try and fix her top and BAM! they are having sex. Ten pages later, they have had a car wreck and he now has amnesia, for all of one minute, but long enough for him to fall in love with her. Why, I don't know, because these are not fully drawn characters, they have no depth, no anything. So naturally 2 days after meeting each other, they have fallen in love and are getting married. I mean, come on. I know you have to suspend belief in romance novels, but this whole story is just plain stupid. I guess the author just wanted to write sex scenes and didn't bother with an actual plot or characters anyone would care about. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. In fact, can I have my $2.00 back?

Ok,I'm down for short stories but this was totally unrealistic and could have been a great story if it didn't occur over a 24 hour period. The whole amnesia thing was weird, the girl was way too easy and manipulative to fall for as a main character. A bit of challenge and depth goes a long way. The sexy bits were quick but nice and with some work the characters could be pretty well rounded.

Jena has come to Texas to sign off her part of the ranch to Harmon Steele Great Aunt Sally's neighbor - or so her brothers think. With a mind of her own she wants to see the ranch first, what she doesn't expect seeing is a hot cowboy in the elevator who grants her one of her fantasies. Too bad it's going to be a quickly because she has a "signing" to go to.

Harm's well and satisfied after the stint with a stranger in the elevator, too bad it had to be so short, but when he walks in to get the papers signed he's shocked to see Jena in the room with all her brothers, talk about little awkward. When Jena refuses to sign he takes her to Sally's ranch to persuade her, but a storm and crash change all plans.

Jena knows it's not polite but she decides to give Harm one fantasy, just like he gave her one, he didn't know he had, as the crash causes a temporary memory lapse Jena tells Harm she's his girlfriend and they are talking marriage. Commitment phobic Harm sure gets a lot to think about, but Jena also begins to think maybe playing Harm wasn't the best of ideas, the man has a sexy possessive streak a mile wide and as his girl she's inside that mile.

Harm's Hunger is one sexy short novella! It's my introduction to Bad in Boots series and I sure am sold! Staring off with a hot scene in the elevator is not a bad way to kick things off in my book, establishes undeniable attraction well and sets a sexy tempting tone for the rest of the book. Michelle writes completely believable characters and her use of dialogue is great nothing corny of fake about it - which makes for great reading!

Jena was a little sneaky and I loved her for it! Her pretending to be Harm's girlfriend was a nice little walk on the naughty side, and her dilemma when he wanted to have sex was so much fun to read! Harm you just can't help falling for, he's a big built guy, strong, capable, caring, possessive and passionate - and okay I so have a thing for cowboys who don't take no for an answer. ;) Harm was a delicious mix of alpha male and cowboy in the best possible mix, and I loved seeing him begin to get out of his afraid of relationships mode as he contemplates what it would be like to be married to Jena.

So why not 5 stars? Mainly because it was tad bit too short, I loved it a ton but I would have loved it even more if it had had more basic everyday stuff, they were isolated in the ranch during the storm and I would have loved some non-storm time after the storm passed maybe some cold feet on Jena and Harm going after her.

The second book Ty's Temptation, Cowboy Romance (Bad in Boots series, Book 2) is out and I have a chance to read it as well and I have high expectations! But after all Patrice Michelle writes so well it's an absolute joy to read her work, so I'm not worried! ;)

I started reading this and it got so silly so fast, I decided to go on Amazon and read the reviews for it. It was as I suspected. Too bad! But that's the beauty of the free books on Amazon, and hey, some of the reviewers actually liked it, so to each his/her own :-)

The gorgeous cowboy Jena meets in the hotel elevator, starts out as Jena Hudson's steamy, hot, sexy cowboy fantasy, but ends up being the cowboy love of her heart--her happily ever after. Patrice Michelle gives you a full novel-length storyline in this novella. Michelle also gave me the heartfelt yet steamy love I look for in a romance.

Harm is one beautiful, sexy cowboy inside and out, and he's been waiting for the right woman who can take all his love and who gives just as much of that hungry love back. Jena is a city girl who's in town to take care of some quick business, but when she meets this big-hearted, gorgeous Texas cowboy, the only business she wants to take care is roping this sexy cowboy's heart forever.

Harm's Hunger is two strangers' hot fantasies becoming a reality of happily ever after. Jena is one city girl who goes country, and Harm is just where Jena wants to be--in Harm's hungry heart. I recommend Harm's Hunger, Cowboy Romance as a satisfying read to your hunger for steamy romance with a happily ever after love.

Strangers in an elevator leads to a meeting of the minds where Jena's Great Aunt Sally's estate hangs in the balance. Her brother may not want his half of the property but Jena sure as hell wasn't quite ready to let it go. Only one thing--she never expected that her handsome-cowboy-stranger-in-an-elevator fantasy person would end up being the potential buyer.

With no real intention to part ways with her great aunt's property, she and Harm take off for "one last look" at the place. A storm hits, a car crash occurs and a series of webs of lies designed to soften the blow of Harm's amnesia turns into a whirlwind romance.

The man may have never believed in happily-ever-after but just maybe...maybe things could change?

"Harm's Hunger" was a very short read but it definitely prompted me to pick up the other books in this series.

This book was just odd. It starts out with steamy sex scene between two strangers (the main characters) within minutes of meeting, followed by some pretty twisted lies (SPOILERS: she deceives him about being his fiance while he has temporary amnesia after a car accident and then gets upset once his memory returns and he's pissed beyond belief by her stunt) that would send any reasonable person running and not looking back. Ever heard the phrase "Don't stick your d*** in crazy"? As far as I'm concerned, that all that happens in the book. Oh, and this is a three part series, so be ready to be introduced to characters with background plot lines that twine through all three books. I'm not wasting my money to read the next two books, but I'd love to know what happens to the little boy who ran away.

I have to say, the story is fairly cheesy, but it works. The book doesn't take itself seriously and just has fun with the storyline. It was perfect fun for an afternoon read. I loved the characters, I even liked the not-so-realistic way they fell right into bed- but it was a great novella, with really engaging characters. The recap? Story is okay, plot is unbelievable, characters make the whole story worth the read. I picked this book up as an Amazon freebie- and I'm glad I did.

Really a waste of time reading this. No story line, characters are ridiculous. At least it was short so the ending wasn't prolonged.
