I really enjoyed this movie. It had a good natured feel with gorgeous characters in the lead roles - Serena Scott Thomas shows us why Hebe is so sought after, Peter Davison is a good foil for John Mills elderly reprobate ! It is a light weight film but one which is quite unforgettable - discernable villains - one could watch it at intervals and still enjoy it each time.
I recommend it and as I have lent my copy to someone (fatal mistake) I am definitely going to buy another

This film is a hidden gem. Serena Scott-Thomas ("Diana - Her Own Story" and sister of Kristin Scott Thomas, despite the fact one uses a hyphen and one doesn't) is terrific in one of what must be her first starring roles. It will make you laugh, cry, get mad and be frustrated. Just not all at once!

I saw this film years ago on our PBS channel and could never find it on AMAZON. In fact I stopped trying for a couple of years. At last, I am ordering it. I wish it would come out on DVD. It's one of the sweetest romances as well as very funny comedies I've seen in many years. I absolutely love it. I highly recommend it for romantics, single moms, lovers of British films etc. Very good entertainment.
