I had purchased Tramontina steak knives years ago and they were the best knives I have ever used. I lost a couple, so ordered new ones and the new ones are a big disappointment. The wooden handles feel rough and the blades have ALREADY gotten rusty after only a couple of weeks of use. They don't cut as well, either. Nothing like the old knives. Had I known all this, I would not have purchased them.

I have an 8 set of these with a wooden block, purchased about 17 years ago and they are still great . Have large comfortable handles, slightly larger handles and blades than most steak knives. Stay sharp too . Excellent quality knives and not made in China . Tramontina makes excellent knives and these aren't flimsy knives . We also have two other block sets of kitchen cutlery by Tramontina . I would recommend them all as a very good dollar buy .

I have eight of these, and they are wonderful. I love Tramontina products, everything I have is great! I have several pieces of cookware with lids and they cook great, clean up good and store easily...

These are sharp and heavy, but I purchased because of full tang. They are not, you see the 3 rivets in the picture? Well that's where the metal stops, I should have known better. They do work well and not worth returning, but again not full tang so buyer be ware. I can live without it, but bugs me because they know it is a selling point, and it's misleading. Would not purchase more because I wanted full tang, like the knife at longhorn steak house.

I originally purchased a couple of these knives at an Ace Hardware, these knives are OK but not the same quality as the Ace knives.

We recently purchased two sets of these knives and we couldn't be happier. For the price they are great. We haven't had them long enough to see how they survive daily trips through the dishwasher - only time will tell how the handles hold up. But they are sharp, have a nice balance, and slice through steak like butter. The only thing negative so far is that I almost cut myself because I'm not used to such a sharp steak knife.

I was looking for a nice set of steak knives for my parents - and since I never really priced knives before was surprised at how much you can spend! I didn't want lower quality, wanted knives that would stay sharp and were made well with rivets in the handles and preferably wooden handles. I noted that some of the most expensive knives had plastic handles. These knives are very nice, a very good size and heft, good hand feel, and very sharp. If you want a good set of knives that look good, feel good, and do the job - without spending hundreds of dollars (OK, I'm sure those knives have some sort of quality for the price if that's what you're looking for), these are the knives for you. Good knives that don't break the bank - and they seem well made so should last a while.
