I replaced my old steel convertible hand truck with this one. It's much lighter than the other one and I believe it's just as strong. I like the pneumatic tires instead of hard plastic ones. I replaced the plastic valve caps with metal ones and just need to occasionally put a bit of air in the tires.

Solid hand truck. Easy to convert from 2 wheel to 4. My only gripe; the wheels are a bit flimsy and wobble just a bit
for my comfort. Otherwise, a very good hand truck for the price. Light weight dolly and easy to use.

I purchased one of these carts in 2010. I work as a commercial security technician and use this to transport materials, tools and ladders around the jobsite. Overall, this is a very good cart.

Pros:
- Lightweight, sturdy, opens and folds easily, good capacity. Mine has been left in the open bed of my pickup for almost 2 years and continues to function well.

Cons:
- Tires were of very poor quality. They require constant attention to maintain pressure and wheel bolt tightness. (I've found that a 12v plug in compressor works well to keep the tires at the proper pressure.) The rim is bolted together and will vibrate the screws loose and then the wheels fall apart.
- The handle requires lubrication and cleaning to allow it smoothly fold. Dry lube works pretty well but makes a bit of a mess.
- The aluminum turns your hands black from corrosion. Makes a mess of clean clothes as you handle it if you're not careful.
- Because of the way they are mounted, the casters under heavy load tend to "stick" and refuse to roll or spin. The heavier load should be placed over the pneumatic wheels to compensate. But the casters are cheap.
- A bed cover is also not available for the cart--but one can be fabricated from sheet aluminum.

My one major complaint with all convertible aluminum carts/hand trucks is the lack of bend to the handle. On the old harper steel carts, the handle had a slight bend at the top that allowed one to hang a 6' ladder from it. This cart has a pair of handle grips that are nice for hanging a hard hat and tool belt from. They can also be used as a small wire spool holder with a piece of emt. One can fabricate a ladder carrier from E-track screwed to the handle just above where it lands when deployed as a flatbed.
