The Concept Connection, August 19, 2006
This review is from: Harper's Topical Concordance of the Bible (Paperback)
For those using KJV to conduct worship services, this volume is most useful. It helps locate appropriate readings on related topics which are not readily found through conventional concordances (which merely locate words rather than concepts). And it usually quotes an entire verse or complete thought, which is presented in a format friendly to the user. This is a highly effective product, in so much that I've worn my (1961) copy ragged, even though it was well made, being Smythe sewn. I wish Harper would revise and expand the volume again. (I've made copious notes in my own copy where verses might be inserted, or topics added.) I'm truly surprised at how little known this title is; I rarely notice it in bookstores. It is a most effective means of extracting from the text, which makes it unlikely to be widely displaced by computer technology.
