5.0 out of 5 stars Wow, this is a very well made product!!, January 7, 2008

Installs with no tools in about 30 seconds. Basically attaches to the rifle stud holes in a vice-like fashion with notches that fit into the holes for additional contact support. This is operated by a metal thumb screw. Easy enough to own one and use with several different rifles and/or use the same stand for multiple rifles at the range. The legs for the 9-13" bipod have 6 positions (locks into place with an audible 'click') which I assume are 1 inch segments. The legs can be adjusted with one hand by pressing thumb shaped buttons on the legs. This can be done without getting up from the bench or compromising any body parts to the muzzle. The legs are raised independently of each other with two very strong springs, one on each leg. (Duh... I know, but I'm just trying to give you a good mental picture). Once they are up they stay up and don't jiggle-jangle around when you are shooting off-hand. The springs seem pretty heavy duty and my first and lasting impression of them is to be very conscious of where my fingers are when putting the bipod legs up so they don't get chomped.

There is a stud at the front of the bipod for a strap which replaces the stud on your rifle that the bipod attaches too. Overall I am very please with this product and the fit and finish is outstanding.

* There are several adapters available if you have no rifle stud or some other configuration. Check on their site for part numbers.

** Oh, and get the swivel version so you can discreetly swivel over a couple of degrees and check your buddy's target to make sure he isn't shooting better than you! :-P

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Bipod, January 21, 2012

Installed on my new .308 heavy rifle. Worked great for me sitting at a bench. Didn't have to extend the legs at all. The bipod seems real solid and the legs lock in very tightly with the springs. I considered a cheapo bipod but went with the Harris instead-a good choice, IMO.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent bipod, January 6, 2012

I tried multiple bipods before settling on this one and I can tell you that this will be the last bipod I buy for my AR-15. This is a VERY solid bipod that doesn't flex or lean at all when you are shooting and it stays folded tightly when collapsed. The leg extensions are really great, as they have height adjustment notches that make it easy to set up quickly.

NOTE: You will need a Harris picatinny adapter if you are attaching this bipod to your AR-15 tactical rails. I bought the Harris Bipod Adaptor 1913 picitinny Mount Weaver compatible and it works extremely well and keeps the bipod completely secure and stable.

There is nothing better than spending your money on a well built, American made, product. It is well worth the 70 or so dollars and looks absolutely sexy on my Rem 700 SPS varmint. I am sure this bipod is the best on the market, I could not be happier with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent product, October 2, 2011

This is the second Harris bipod I've purchased. They are engineered to perfection and have no defects. They provide a steady rest for accurate shooting. I thought I would try the LM version this time. It's spring loaded to push the leg extensions out when released. This model also has several notches in the legs so when you determine your specific height, you can go back to it easily every time. The L model allowes infinite adjustments, the LM provides notches for repetitive setups. Either one is a winner. I picked the 9-13 inch in both models to provide a good rest on the bench or lying down. It's the optimum height for my shooting. I was told Harris was the best and it was good advice. Shipping was prompt as always.

I bought this Harris bipod for my Ruger SR-22 and what a difference it made. Easy to attach and use, this was a great addition to my rifle. It adds very little weight and also accomodates a sling. It's really the only modification I've made to my Ruger - other than a Nikon scope and 25-round clips. Only negative; the screw that connects the bipod can come loose from recoil and general use; a minor flaw. Highly recommended for target shooters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Harris bipod, June 14, 2011
This review is from: Harris Engineering 1A2-LM Solid Base 9 - 13-Inch BiPod (Sports)
Very sturdy bipod, great for sighting in a scope, or just some fun plinking. Fits on my Savage MKII perfectly, and is nice and sturdy, even with a sling.

5.0 out of 5 stars Harris makes a fantastic bipod, April 26, 2011

Ive owned many Harris bipods over the years, all have been rock solid. This one is no different.

I chose this over the swivel model for my bench gun, as I rarely shoot on uneven terrain (prone next to the bench or on the bench). If that suits your needs, I say save $30 and get this vs the swivel model. If you are going to actually be shooting in unfamiliar terrain that may be uneven, get the swivel model.

Couldnt be happier with my purchase

4.0 out of 5 stars Great: Quality, Height, Weight, Small Gripe, April 12, 2011

This review is from: Harris Engineering 1A2-LM Solid Base 9 - 13-Inch BiPod (Sports)
This bipod is very solid and lighter than one would expect when looking at it. My main complaint with this product is with the screw that tightens the clamp which holds the device to a rail adapter. It is on the short side which depending on the rail adapter you choose could cause you to make some engineering changes. I modified the adapter instead of this bi-pod but a longer screw or longer grip teeth on said bi-pod would have made this modification unneeded and the bi-pod more secure. If you are ok with that, rock on, if not be prepared. Don't get me wrong I would not buy any other branded bipod after using this device. After preliminary research you will find this is the favored bipod for DMR roles by the military and shooting enthusiast. If you are unsure which height to get, which I was, this seems to be the best. This works perfectly when sitting at a bench or prone. 6-9in would have been too short for me. I attached this to my m14 Sage Mod-0 EBR.
