This review is from: Harrison's CD-ROM, 14/e (CD-ROM)
I have been reading Harrison's Medicine right from my residency. Its a fabulous book one can refer to as an undergraduate or postgratuate student. However for a practitioner one would prefer to have little more stress on management details. Adding audio to CD of the same book will make it more useful.Mukund Baheti Consultant Neurologist Nagpur- 440 012 India

This review is from: Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine, CD-ROM (CD-ROM)
HARRISON'S is synonymous with clinical books that worth their weights in gold. This 15th/ed CD-ROM maintained that tradition. It adds the much-needed portability to some 2700-paged heavyweight. However, the air-tight use-restrictions attached is simply suffocating. I wish that the publisher had relaxed a bit!Overall though, there were compensations. The CD contents are superb: far better than what the textbook versions offer. Anyone with interest in medical science should give it a try. It is elaborate and easy to understand. The excellent chapters on pharmacology and infectious diseases are particularly worth mentioning.

Fauci is a very poor scientist. He lets his own political beliefs bias his medical opinions. As he has been in high positions in NIH this serves to greatly retard medical science and cause much suffering to disabled Americans. An example is his steadfast support of the Dr. Mengele of modern medicine Stephen Straus in his disinformation campaign on ME (aka CFS).

This review is from: Harrison's 14 CD-ROM Version 1.2 (CD-ROM)
When it comes to internal medicine, which is generally considered to be the core of the medical profession, Harrison's is the standard that others use for comparison. The hardcover has always been outstanding. New versions are available regularly with changes based on information gathered from the latest clinical trials, new drugs released, etc worldwide. The CDROM version takes it a bit further. Now instead of waiting a year or two for updates, access to medical sites on the WWW enables the student, intern, resident, or even the attending to get the latest information fast. If you could buy only one medical resource this would have to be it.
