5.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't deserve that bad criticism!, May 1, 2008
I am surprised to see so many people rate this book poorly. For me it is one of the most exciting books I've read. Having read "The Switch" and loved it, I tried to find other books with the same idea and came upon this. I know that realistically it would be impossible for a young, proper lady of the regency to disguise herself as a young man, but I read romance to escape from reality, so I don't particularly mind.
Henrietta's outrageous antics to make Jason Cavender challenge her to a duel are funny and this first part comes in contradiction with the second, where Lord Harry is revealed as Lady Henrietta, which is darker and faster as a villain emerges who's after Henrietta.
A very engrossing read, not perfect as The switch, but highly entertaining nontheless.

3.0 out of 5 stars The heroine didn't really use her brain, March 4, 2000
The plot for this book started off well, but throughout Henrietta's investigations she is lacking in a little thing called hard evidence. She only realizes her grievous mistake until after she tries to kill the man who supposedly murdered her brother Damien, at the Battle of Waterloo. The end though was quite good, with a surprise ending that made me feel bad for Henrietta, despite her lack of witts. I do, however, love Cathrine Coulter books, and although this one isn't her best works, she is still a talented writer that has written many, many books that are definately worth reading.

This review is from: Lord Harry (Hardcover)
I liked the plot and how Hetty was determined to avenge her brother. Hetty was in deep mourning for her brother Damien who died at Waterloo. She receives a letter and believes the machinations of Jason cause her brothers death. She masquerades as Lord Harry so that she can duel with Jason. They do duel and secrets come out. The ending is quite a surprise. I really loved this book. It was wonderful.
