Harry & the hang glider,
This review is from: Harry and the Hang Glider (Hardcover)
As a hang glider pilot, I have been looking for a childrens book on hang gliding for my 3 year old daughter. I found this book & rate it as every hang glider pilot with children should have one of these.. A fun, educational book for children..

Great kid's book about hand gliding,
By Midnight Sun Books "Kathy" (Alaska, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Harry and the Hang Glider (Hardcover)
This picture book explains learning how to hand gliding covering vocabulary, the process of learning to fly, the proper techniques and the need to practice. It follows Harry the Hare who receives flying lessons after recovering and returning to the rightful owner a hand glider that fell off a truck. His side-kick friend, Ollie, is a burrowing owl who gives him encouragment and cheers him on.Nicely illustrated using the desert as a backdrop. The text was a little confusing in that the lines cover two pages when the illustration spans two pages, but a minor detail. The book nicely conveys the need to practice within a positive framework of persistence, hard-work and a "Can do" attitude which all lead to a sense of accomplishment. My six year was ready to fly after reading the book! |
