The list author says: "Here's a list of the Harry Hole novels available in English translation in sequence. The series actually begins with two books that remain to be translated into English, "Batman" and "Cockroaches." And BTW, publisher insists Harry's last name is pronounced "Hooley;" not "Hole." Sounds a lot better, doesn't it. Translator for entire series is Don Bartlett."
"1 of 6: This time around Hole goes against a group of skinheads and aging Norwegian nationals with WWII Nazi connections. The story begins more than half a century earlier at the end of the war on the cold, wintry Eastern Front where a band of Norwegian anti-Russians has enlisted as Hitler's foot soldiers on a fool's errand combating the Bolsheviks."
"2 of 6: This time out, Hole is chasing someone the police have labeled the "Expediter," a ruthless criminal who appears to be responsible for a string of Oslo bank heists. In the first and most chilling of the robberies, the Expediter executes a bank employee when her co-worker is unable to meet a 25-second deadline to deliver the cash."
"3 of 6: From Publishers Weekly -- A serial killer taunts Harry Hole. Still suffering from alcohol-fueled demons and obsessed with hunting for evidence against a clearly dirty cop, Hole grudgingly agrees to help look into the murder of a woman whose finger has been amputated and a red diamond stuck under her eyelid."
