OMG! In the late 1970's and early 1980's I was married to a man who played trumpet and traveled with the HJ orch. So I got to go to a lot of performances of the Orchestra even though only as a band wife. Listening to this recording (although it was recorded in 1972-about 7 years before my experience) made me feel like I was right back in the ballroom where HJ and his orchestra were playing. I'd forgotten how when Harry was counting off to start a tune he'd go ...."Hey!..." Brings back a lot of wonderful memories that for me ---are part of the life I actually lived. If you value nostalgia and enjoy reminiscing with the likes of Sonny Paynes' fabulous drum solo---and the always popular medley---"I had the craziest dream last nite, I never dreampt it could be but Harry James was there playing just for me....It's been a long long time, I don't want to walk without you baby...please have them play it again and we'll remember just when we've played these lovely songs before...." Incredible music. Cathy Chemi and her husband (singer & trumpet player in the band on this recording) live and perform not far from where I live (Harrisburg, PA) today and it's just a pleasure to take in Cathy's voice from 1972 on this recording and then see and hear her perform today---40+ years later....always a good experience.
