5.0 out of 5 stars Great illustrations; a must for HP fans
I love Mary Grandpre's drawings; it's like they're from a very vivid Harry Potter dream! And she always includes the little details in the illustrations, just like J.K. Rowling includes the little details in her books.

The months/pictures are as follows (and all of them are a lot like the ones in the U.S. books, only with color and bigger!):...

3.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointed
When I purchased this calendar last year the calendar was designed so that you could turn each of the illustrations into prints. It was on heavy cardstock type paper and was very nice. I was therefore extremely dissapointed when my calendar arrived and it was just like any calendar with the glossy pages. I am not sure why they changed it or did not have different types of...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great illustrations; a must for HP fans, August 5, 2005
This review is from: Harry Potter 2006 Wall Calendar (Calendar)
I love Mary Grandpre's drawings; it's like they're from a very vivid Harry Potter dream! And she always includes the little details in the illustrations, just like J.K. Rowling includes the little details in her books.

The months/pictures are as follows (and all of them are a lot like the ones in the U.S. books, only with color and bigger!):

January: The Flying Anglia from CoS
February: Blackmailing Rita from OotP
March: Stinksap from OotP
April: Pixie Pandemonium from CoS
May: The End of the Maze from GoF
June: Detention with Dolores Umbridge from OotP
July: Quirrelmort from SS/PS
August: The Prophecy from OotP
September: The Maurader's Map from PoA
October: The Cage of Light (ghosts from Voldemort's wand...) GoF
November: Catching the Key from SS/PS
December: The Pensieve from GoF

Most Harry Potter fans understand the book abbreviations, but here's a translation for those considering this for a gift--

SS/PS: Sorcerer's Stone/Philosopher's Stone
CoS: Chamber of Secrets
PoA: Prisoner of Azkaban
GoF: Goblet of Fire
OotP: Order of the Phoenix

This calendar is a must for Harry Potter fans, (I know, because I want it for Christmas)!

I am not sure why they changed it or did not have different types of calendars, but I will probably not buy the calendar if it is like this again next year

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as Nice as 2005's, February 18, 2006

This wall calendar, in comparison to 2005's, is very disappointing. The only "plus-side" is that the pictures are easily removed for use as artwork.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Illustrations, Beyond the Books, August 23, 2006
This review is from: Harry Potter 2006 Wall Calendar (Calendar)
I love Mary Grandpre's work, so I was very happy to get this calendar. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the illustrations weren't just recycled from the chapters of the books, but full illustrations of scenes from the books.
