I have been an avid player of the Harry Potter Scene-It games since they were first released in 2005. "Harry Potter: The Complete Cinematic Journey" is enjoyable, but it falls a little short in comparison with its predecessors.

For one thing, there is no "Deluxe Edition" available of this game, (i.e., a version with more trivia cards and extra playing pieces). The pawns here are no longer metal, but faux-painted plastic made to look like metal, and the game cards are decent but not plentiful. I was really disappointed that Screenlife opted not to bring out a nicer edition, considering the fact that the price is somewhat high and that this third edition is supposed to encompass the entire series, but I guess they're doing whatever they can to cut costs, and cheapening the quality of the pawns is how they've decided to do it.

As far as general gameplay goes, the format is the same, but with a few slight alterations and additions. Features such as My Play, All Play, and All Play To Win remain, with a new section, My Challenge, which allows a single player to advance around the board by playing an interactive challenge using the remote. It's a neat addition, if a little too easy, but provides a nice change from only watching movie clips. The All Play challenges are a little harder than before, and feature, like the other parts of the game, characters, images, and clips from the Deathly Hallows films.

The trivia question cards have new categories, with logos that are numbers in speech-bubbles rather than the previous hats, castles, or brooms. This makes it more difficult to identify them when you roll the dice, but I'm getting used to it.

This is an okay Scene It Game. The only thing that I have a problem with is that I own two other Scene It Harry Potter games and they both come with little metal playing pieces and this one comes with little plastic playing pieces. I feel a little bit cheated out. But other than that I love it. I would recommend this product to a friend along with the seller because the product arrived on time.

We have the earlier version of HP Scene-it and were really looking forward to a game with all the movies. Though this one has all the movies the board and pieces are cheap and flimsy. The game is even more disappointing because there are not enough questions even for a small family of 3. We immediately began experiencing repeat questions even when using different 'preset' games. HP Clue has given us more entertainment.

I have been waiting since the first Harry Potter movie to get a scene it for the entire series and so I have been super excited for this to game for a long time, but it took me about 5 mins to start discovering the misprints and incorrect cards in this game. A charms and spell card saying, "Riddikulus You've just been hit with a confundus charm..." When did Riddikulus become the confundus charm? Or how about, "...Professor Umbridge Threatens to torture HP with which spell or curse?" answer, "5972"...huh what?! That makes no sense. Or that this game seems to think Draco gives Harry his wand in the 8th film when anyone who has watched the movies will know Harry takes Draco's wand in film 7. They don't even have the correct type of dragon at Gringotts. Did the people making this game even watch the movies? What a disappointment!!!

This game uses the whole Harry Potter universe as it's question base. They really sped up interactivity and gameplay in this latest "scene it" by adding a second question after "My Play" that everyone can answer. So you can't just snooze through someone else's My Play anymore. There are some really obscure questions found in this game that you'll only get if you've read the books, however the majority of all the material comes from the movies, so if you've just seen the movies... this game is still a blast. I was disappointed they went with plastic resin pieces this time but... oh well. We've played this game ~10 times since purchasing it and havent once ran into a repeat movie clip or question yet. This is an excellent game!

My boyfriend and I love the Harry Potter movies and I thought this would be a great Christmas gift. I've read most of the books in addition to watching the movies, but he hasn't. A lot of the questions are very specific- asking character names of characters that are not important to the movies but have much bigger rolls in the book. You'll definitely have an edge up if you've read the books, too.

Other reviews of this game made me really wary about ordering it. However it was the perfect gift for my sister for christmas and it is the only thing similar to what it is. Therefore I went ahead and ordered it and I'm glad I did. I too wish the game was nicer like our older version of harry potter scene-it. With the nice pewter playing pieces. However, we just use those when we play this and it's almost the same. They introduce new games, so it's not the same experience as the former version. I'm not sure how I feel about the new addition where a question is asked on screen and anyone who answers it has to pick from a deck of cards and your consequence for answering is not always good. It's hard to stop from answering a question that you know the answer to, yet you could end up going back to start for it. But I guess it switches things up. Overall great buy. One question I disagreed with the answer. The question asked who gave neville the gilly weed that he gave to harry. I answered Barty crouch jr. because it was him disguised as Moody. However, the card said Moody, so I was wrong. Except i was right. So that was frustrating.
