I've been saving up for the Harry Potter Lego's and when I had a lot of them I needed a place for Harry, Hermione, and Ron to relax and do homework. What better place to do that than in the House of Gryffindor! this set includes the Gryffindor common room, the dormitories, and a backround for both rooms! When a Gryffindor needs to enter the tower they must first give the password to the portrait of the Fat Lady. Once inside they find a nice comfortable chair and a table complete with a lamp to work at. When their work is done the Gryffindors head up to the dormitories for bed. first they store their belongings in the little cupboard and then climb into the four-poster bed complete with velvet curtains just like J.K. Rowling describes in the books! It's a nice little place for your Harry Potter minifigures to settle down after a hard day of exams. Besides Harry, Ron, and Hermione need a place where they can talk about the Sorcerer's Stone without Snape listening in on their conversation. This set also includes Ron, his pet rat Scabbers, some books, a wand, and a little suitcase for Ron's belongings. So if your Harry Potter characters are tired after a hard day of levitating feathers and turning turtles into kettles I highly recommend the House of Gryffindor.

With all the sets I have there are multiple rons. Which of course is great because they can all double as Ron's brothers. This is one of three sets (the others being Diagon Alley and Hogwarts Classroom) that uses bright neon orange and pink pieces. I really wish they had two beds instead of one to play out Harry and Ron's rooms. So I bought two of the same set. This set also comes with Scabbers, a bit of luggage, some books and a large chair. The best feature really is the bed with its cloth canopy and small yellow blanket. I wish it could have been different but all in all its a good set -- durable and educational as all legos are.

My 9 y.o. son got this set for Christmas, along with several others. His first reaction was "there's a lot of pink!" This set (along with the Diagon Alley and Hogwart's classroom sets, which share the garish color scheme) seems to be a shameless pandering to little girls, but somehow I don't think even the most diehard Barbie girls envision Ron Weasley's room done up in pink, tangerine, and turquoise....The other sets in this series, with the more appropriate grey color scheme, are wonderful and my son is having a great time with them. This one will probably be given away as he's embarrassed to have it. My advice: don't buy this one unless a child has seen it and asked for it!
