I am very impressed with the map- it is printed on thick, parchment-type paper and looks hand drawn. I purchased mine from the Noble Collection (through Amazon) and was very happy with the way that the Map was packaged and the shipping speed. My map arrived well before the expected delivery date. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because when folded, the wording on the front of the map doesn't quite match up right. I've tried to fix it by refolding the Map, but it just keeps going back to the way it came. It's not so bad that I would return it, but if you're a perfectionist it might bother you. Very nice item for a Harry Potter fan.

This map was bought as a present for my son, who loves all things Harry Potter. Therefore, he is certain to like this map. This map was printed on thick parchment. However, the map was a bit disappointing (to myself, also a fan) in that several parts of the map were just reprinted portions of other parts of the same map. For example the hidden passage to Hogsmeade appears at least twice. Further, there was no Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor or Hufflepuff House anywhere on the map. Granted - it would take a lot of imagination and thought to map a multidimensional bluprint of Hogwarts, but it could be done. At the very least, the map creators could have aspired to not duplicating the same rooms. If the size of the map reflected the effort of trying to fit in all of Hogwarts, that would have been admirable. Instead, the map's size is only a testament to biggest is not necessarily best.
Beware Harry Potter fans. While the map is certainly a fairly decent nod to the original concept, anyone expecting to actually see a realistic blueprint of Hogwarts will be disappointed. No Gryffindor?

I bought this item for my daughter, age 9. She loves it because it looks just like the one in the movie. I love it because it's sturdy and not likely to tear or wear out soon.

Nice but not much to it
My daughter got this for Christmas, it's nice but has limited use or play value. Maybe as a collectable, but I'm sure there were 1000's made.
