Amazon.com Product Description

Leave the nonmagical world of the Muggles behind to play as Harry Potter in the Game Boy Color release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Experience the wizardry, adventure, and thrills of life at Hogwarts.

As the game begins, you're starting your first year at Hogwarts. Explore the school and its grounds, gather items for potions, cast spells, and take on a range of adversaries in turn-based wizard challenges. Solve action-oriented puzzles with Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Albus Dumbledore, and a host of unforgettable characters from the J.K. Rowling book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone--the book that started it all.

Colorful graphics render Harry's enchanted world in spirited detail, making the journey from Privet Drive to Diagon Alley and the Gringotts, then onto Hogwarts and the Forbidden Forest, all the more fun. You can also trade and collect famous wizard cards to unlock rewards and increase Harry's skills. You can trade cards with a friend using a Game Link cable. And as you garner experience points for Harry, you can upgrade spells and improve Harry's strength so he can take on new opponents.

Product Description

Cartridge Only Unlike other game versions of the first Harry Potter book, the Game Boy Color rendition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is a traditional roleplaying game, complete with NPCs to talk to and random beastie battles to challenge you. The game begins with the receipt of an acceptance letter into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. From there, you (as Harry Potter, of course) will go shopping for your school supplies, catch the train on the 9 3/4 platform, take a boat ride, and finally arrive at your new home.

5.0 out of 5 stars This game rules!!!!, September 26, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone (Game Cartridge)
I think this game is the best game since Super Mario Kart on the Super Nintendo! I don't actually have the game yet,but I've played it once and it is really fun! You start the game in Privet Drive then move on to Diagon Alley where you buy all your wizarding needs. Ofcourse you first must navigate through the Gringotts maze to get you money. Once you have all your supplies,to the Hogwarts Express! After the Hogwarts Express you get to Hogwarts finaly. The castle is huge! You collect and trade wizard cards to improve Harry's strength. This game is really fun and will definately be a huge hit among gamers so it would be smart to reserve it,or you'll find yourself with an empty shelf. Thanks and see you at Hogwarts!

5.0 out of 5 stars A GREAT game, November 10, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone (Game Cartridge)
This game is great! So far I've shopped on Diagon Alley, attended my first day of classes at Hogwarts, snooped in the teachers' offices, collected wizard cards, and battled spiders, bats and rats. This game reminds me of Zelda, another good RPG. The graphics are great for a Gameboy game.

5.0 out of 5 stars My Favorite Gameboy Game, December 1, 2001
By
Jonathan Lewis (Baton Rouge, LA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone (Game Cartridge)
I love playing Pokemon (I have all of them: Red, blue, gold, Crystal, etc) and Dragon Warrior Monsters, even Zelda, but my FAVORITE is Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone. I am a mega Harry Potter fan, and this game is essential to my Game-boy list! True, some levels were difficult (Snape's Potion Quest, and defeating the Troll in the bathroom) but if they were too easy where would the fun be? I hope to get the PC version of the game for my birthday (Dec 29). I saw the movie twice, read all the books, and knowing all about Harry will help some with the game, but it's not required. I hope they make gameboy versions of the other Harry Potter books!!!!! (P.S. My Dad plays the game, too. You can have up to 3 people playing the game and saving where they left off. After looking at the other reviews he said to tell you to ask Hagrid for where the items needed for Snape's Quest are located.)
