3.0 out of 5 stars Harry Potter Mom
My 3 year old "loves" all things Harry Potter, especially since big brother does. Have been looking foward to something that was more on his level for him to enjoy. The book is very nice. He enjoys the pop up and action tabs. The artwork is nice. I was very disappointed that it has no words at all! A little story would have been nice. He does, however, enjoy the book and...

2.0 out of 5 stars Falls short, August 23, 2001
This review is from: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone: A Deluxe Pop-up Book (Hardcover)
True, the Harry Potter series is one of the best around, for kids and adults with imaginations. However, this pop-up book falls very short of any expectations one might have. There are very few pages to look at, no words at all, just cartoonish scenes.

This book was full of lots of pull-tabs. The art work is similar to the covers of the books - cartoon without looking goofy. I was looking at it in a store until my (very patient) 6 yr old dragged me away saying "I'll tell Dad you want it for Christmas - let's go!" This book is for every Harry Potter fan.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute for younger Potter lovers, August 1, 2007
This review is from: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone: A Deluxe Pop-up Book (Hardcover)
Our 4 year old tends to feel excluded from the Harry Potter fun we have with our 11 year old but this seemed to assist in bridging the gap as it was something Potter for her yet age appropriate. Cute

3.0 out of 5 stars Creative yet bulky..., November 2, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone: A Deluxe Pop-up Book (Hardcover)
Need I say more? The pop-up book is cool, yet it is too big, and it's hardly a book. 12-pages? More like a 360 degrees book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book for young children., July 30, 2003
This review is from: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone: A Deluxe Pop-up Book (Hardcover)
I spend every evening reading to my 2 children. Although neither is school aged, both enjoy "reading" this book to me. Each takes a turn and tells about the scenes on the page. In this way they are laying the foundation for early reading. The illustrations are first rate. The pull tabs effectively illustrate cause and effect relationships. One of the best things about this book is the fact that there are no words whatsoever. The story is told by my children and their version is always right. It is helpful that everyone in the family is familiar with the story in one form or another. (movie or novels)

5.0 out of 5 stars My 3 year old Harry Potter fan...., December 28, 2003

This review is from: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone: A Deluxe Pop-up Book (Hardcover)
My three year old son LOVES Harry Potter, and we have had SO much trouble finding age-appropriate merchandise for him. I was scoping the local book store and stumbled upon this book. When I brought it home he went NUTS!!! It doesn't even bother with words, and it doesn't really need them, b/c the pop ups say it all. The lack of words definitely wasn't a problem for us b/c he can't read....so overall it's a great item for small children, but you might want to look around for something more challanging for older kids.
