a collector's item more than a toy?,

I have most of the "action" figures from the Harry Potter sequence. The students are all about 5 ins tall, and surprisingly well made and detailed for the [money] that they cost. They look like the actors in the Warner Bros. film, down to costume and accessories, which is good or not-so-good depending on your point of view (Harry's glasses are silver rather than black). Let me repeat, however: the quality of design and materials is really very good.Despite being action figures, there is a limited range of positions you can make them assume, mostly because they do not always balance steadily on their own two feet. Hermione, for instance, keels over every time I touch my desk. The accessories are pretty good. This Harry has a wand and a neat Hedwig. The trouble is, these small bits can get detached from the figure very easily and misplaced. For this reason, I wonder whether the figures are more useful as actual toys to be used by children (not very small children, mind) or as collector's items for HP-obsessed teenagers and adults -- which is why I own them! Each figure comes with a little trick coin and a token that can be used with the manufacturers' wand duel game to create different effects (which I haven't yet tried).

Well, many people say this figure doesn't look like Daniel Radcliff, but in a way it sort of does, then in a way it doesn't. What upsets me most about this figure, is that his hair is hiding his SCAR! I was hoping it would show in the toy because it is one of Harry's famous trademarks. And what's up with the silver glasses, they're supposed to be black. I still like the figure, but it is hard to balance Harry with Hedwig on one hand and his other hand with is wand raised. I had to lower his wand arm so he could balance properly. All in all, he is a very cool action figure. I was fortunate enough to find one with the Gryffindor crest put on his robe.(it is placed in his upper left-hand part of his robe)

Unfortunately the face doesn't resemble Daniel Radcliffe (the actor who plays Harry) but it's still a pleasant face. One hand holds his wand and the other holds Hedwig (who looks beautiful) so there aren't very many arm positions you can play with, but I don't think that takes away from its fun. It also comes with a "magic" medallion trick and a collectible "stone," for use with the Harry Potter powercaster playset. Also the packaging looks pretty cool, which is great for collectors. I would recommend this toy to anyone who is a fan of Harry Potter.

This Harry Potter toy, I think is well made. Harry comes with a wand and his snowy white owl named Hedwig. He is wearing his Gryffindor robes and sweater with a yellow and red tie. This makes him look like he is ready for any class or anything! His glasses, which do not come off, add to the effect. I think this is a great toy to have because wizards can do anything they want.

I recieved this for Christmas and I really like this toy. It seems very durable and educational also. Kids can play their favorite adventure scenes and set-ups too! Collecters say that their wands keep falling out of their hands, but if you're a collecter, you should just keep the little rubberband around their hand that they come in. They don't come with too many accesories though (Harry comes with Hedwig, his wand, casting stone, and magic coin). Others come with more things though too. It really seems like a collecters item. And if you can't decide which figure to get first, I would buy Harry first because he's the big thing that's going fast! You'll be pleased with this one, I assure you.

These toys are really cool. I also enjoy stumping my friends with the "magical medalion" tricks. I am trying to collect them all, but they are geting hard to find. :( Just about every store has them; just finding the ones you need/want is the hard part.

This is a Christmas gift for a Harry Potter fan. I think this or any of the Potter action figures make wonderful, collectible gifts for Potter fans -- whether they be kids or adults.

Action Figure Harry does not really resemble Daniel Radcliffe, the actor playing him in the movie - the figure doesn't even have green eyes. Hedwig looks good though. The packaging is cool, the plastic is fashioned into columns on either side of the figure, and that's a nice touch. Of course, children aren't really going to care about the packaging or Harry's eye colour, so if you're thinking about buying this for a kid, do it! I haven't taken mine out of the package, but it looks pretty sturdy and durable, so I can imagine kids having lots of fun with this. It also includes a collectible "stone" (of which I don't understand the point) and a magic trick, but, as mine is unopened, I'm not sure what this is. So, I think children will love it. Collectors may be slightly disappointed, but it's still worth buying. |
