My 8-year-old son and I are very pleased with this set. The sorting hat has a "face" on it and it is a puppet so you can make the mouth move, although it is a bit difficult for smaller hands to manage. It is a nice quality material. We are going to use it to "sort" his birthday party guests into the Hogwarts houses as they arrive. It's $25 everywhere it's sold online, so for the extra $15 with this set, we got the Gryffindor scarf which my son couldn't wait to put on. It is made of 100% lambswool and has the Gryffindor crest on it, just like the one in the movie. Again, very nice quality for the price.

The hat is something else. Great material (it's made of a microfiber very soft material) and it is of excellent craftmanship. Worth the money. The scarf is better than others I've seen out there. It is purple not maroon, though. However, it is good quality.

The sorting hat is better than can be imagined! The scarf is great and has double functionality - costume and winter accessory. The only down side is - the scarf is purple and gold instead of maroon and gold but inspite of this it is WELL worth the price and we are VERY pleased.
