Uno is a great game, and even a better family game. However anything that does not plug into a playstation carries little intrest with the kids. They are however Harry fans, having read through his books quickly and anticipating the next anxiously. Though I would give this a try, and needless to say it met with their approval. It is the same basic game of Uno we all grew up with and loved, but the cards are beautifuly illustrated to a Harry Poter theme. The same basic rules and game play applies, so you will not have to change your game strategy. My kids picked up on this easily, there are not too many rules and the enclosed insructions were easy enough for them to read, (I tried telling them the rules, but they wanted to read them for themselves). This is not an "educational" toy per se, but it does require strategy, which I conclude brings some sort of educational value to this toy. Definatly not "Sticky Bear Math" or "Math Blasters", but its a lot better than video games and most board games. This game pretty much has the durability of a fancy coated deck of cards, so if it is treated well it will last. Unlike other Potter themed games, this one has been played almost daily over the past 3 weeks by our kids. There are no signs of them losing interest. Bottom Line: Not a bad price, your kids will love it, and you won't mind playing it with them. Highly recommend.

What with all the fun we're having with the Harry Potter Quidditch Card Game, you might wonder why I needed to go out and special-order this set (it's not available in Canada). The truth is that, fun as Quidditch is, I didn't think my 6-year-old was ready for it (at 31 and 37 years old, WE're still figuring out the rules)!!! So I sprang for this set instead and broke it out a couple of weeks ago on a rainy Shabbos afternoon. He loves it!!! Of course, my son had never played regular Uno, and I hadn't in years, but fans of card games will recognize the game as being a simple variant of "Crazy Eights" -- with a few special cards thrown in. The Harry Potter version adds two more special cards, as other reviewers have noted, which just boosts the intrigue and excitement of this great game. Despite the high costs (US exchange, shipping, etc) involved, this game has been a great addition to our card-game library. Of course, non-HP fans can save themselves a bit of cash and just invest in regular Uno. But if you do have a fan in your midst, this game would make a very thoughtful gift. Recommended Ages: 7 or 8 and up (my 5-year old is bored to tears by this game, and the 6-year-old loves the game but lacks the physical co-ordination to hold his cards properly) Playability on Shabbat: YES!!! (this means no batteries, electronics or writing are involved)

We gave this game to our 8 year old Harry Potter fans a year ago. They never played the regular Uno game but picked up this game extremely quickly. We all have a lot of fun playing this game and it doesn't take a long time which is an extra plus with our busy schedules. The chest is great looking for storing the cards as well.

We really enjoyed this game. We would have liked to have seen more howler cards and more invisibility cards to really make game play different from regular UNO, but on the whole it played every bit as well and offered a new twist on an old favorite for our family. The kids especially loved recognizing their old Potter friends on the cards, and like the regular UNO it offers an opportunity to practice math skills. We also really liked the packaging. The box appears to be not only novel but durable for prolonged use. Well worth the price for Potter fans.

If you like the original Uno game, you'll love Harry Potter Uno. It's the same game... only better! First of all, I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, so of course I enjoy the Harry Potter theme. But, even if you don't think Harry is the greatest thing since sliced bread, this game can be fun for you. This game brings something new to Uno in the form of 2 new cards. The Howler and the Invisibility Cloak. The Howler is just plain fun. What's it for? You play it, like a wild card, and the next person has to shout (really shout) out all the cards in his or her hand. It is hilarious when you play it on someone with half the deck in their hand. Ha! And the Invisibility Cloak is a great addition for the strategic players. You play it defensively to keep you from drawing extra cards (or howling). Both cards add an exciting new element to the game. There is really only one thing I don't like about Harry Potter Uno. Remember in original Uno... the draw two card? In this version it's draw three. Not a big change... but.. I don't know. Maybe it's because I'm a traditionalist or something. Adding cards is one thing... but changing one? But it's a petty issue. Really, it's a great game. As I said before, if you like Uno, you'll love this.

One of my family's favorite things is to cuddle up on a cold night and play this game! It's not like those games that confuse kids or bore adults. We all love it!

Harry Potter Uno is the best uno especially if ur into Harry Potter it's like normal uno but it has draw 3 instead of draw 2 and a card where u put it down and every1 shows u there cards and u can change the colour and it has an owl with an envelope and there is another card where it has a ghost on it and u put it down if some1 puts like a draw 4 on u , u put the card u have down and it stops them makin u pick up.Harry Potter is the best and i cant wait to see the movie.

My kids (5 and 9) both enjoy playing UNO and love Harry Potter. So this is a great toy. Only complaint is that the cardboard box has a fake cardboard lock that if you try to lift rips off (You're supposed to just lift the lid... who knew). Anyway, a little superglue and wiping some tears fixed it.

Uno is a fun game and favorite pastime among some card players. Harry Potter Uno is just as fun. I like seeing the pictures of characters from the Sorceror's Stone on the cards(very beautiful illustrations). I also like seeing how some things from the book can relate to the game, such as how the Mirror of Erised is pictured for reverse. One thing that Harry Potter Uno has that the original Uno doesn't have is a Howler, where you have to tell out loud what cards you have. One way that this game can be educational is that children can learn counting skills from it(even the little ones in my family like playing Harry Potter Uno). My whole family has always enjoyed reading Harry Potter together and now we have fun playing Harry Potter Uno together, which is another way that Harry Potter helps bring the family together!
