This open-up diorama of the Whomping Willow scene from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is a fine accessory for a growing Potter play set. The tree contains a hollow interior that can easily swallow the tiny Harry and his movable car (both included), the outstretched tree branches move, and a malevolent spider and web add to the eeriness. Dedicated collectors can obtain related Potter sets (sold separately) to combine with this one for more detailed scene recreations. --Diane Beall

We bought the Whomping Willow Micro Playset straight away after seeing it at the store. We'd already read all four books (and can't WAIT until the 5th one comes out!!...be sure and put your name on the email list to be notified when it comes out!!). The playset is great fun (except when my son keeps stratigically placing the toy spider in different spots around the house to terrify me with LOL!!) It's a really durable set...we recommend it for older kids who are a bit more gentle with toys as the Harry and Ron figurines are fairly small. We've had such fun playing out scenes from the Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets book. We were so pleased with this toy that we decided to come online and search for more!! We just purchased the Hogwart's Castle Micro Playset and are awaiting the Hargid's Hut Micro Playset in the mail. We researched the reviews for the castle...(you should too!!) and it appears we aren't the only one's who find it enchanting, although we aren't looking forward to unwrapping it...see the reviews LOL). If you're thinking about buying this part of the set, we say go for it!!

This playset is not even in stores yet!(as of February of 2002) It is from year 2! Don't be fooled, the picture amazon.com has is of Hagrid's Hut. The playset includes the forbidden forest, platform 9 3/4, and Hagrids Hut, and it is the last playset to connect to the world of Hogwarts. Inside is the whomping willow, which can grab the Weasley's blue car, and it has a spider web inside with Aragog the spider. It includes a Ron and Harry little figure. It won't be available in stores till a couple months.

I love this playset! I really hope they add more chamber of secrets playsets! It includes Ron, Harry, Aragog, and the blue car. The whomping willow moves when you spin a gear on the back around. It also is very durable. A good buy.
