after reading all the Harry Potter books in english wich i enjoyed extreamly, was looking forward to find how much fun would it be to read them in spanish (my first language) also. i'm so desapointed with this "dictionary" translation, the book lacks feeling, fluidity, i find it choppy and to my amaizment was to find SO many gramar incorrectness in the book, this translation shows no real effort to capture the spirit of the caracters. it's a shame that the translators did not take advantages of all the posibilities that such a great language as spanish offers to give this book the same feeling and fun to read as the english versions.

Definitivamente mi favorito de los seis. Es, a mi parecer, el climax de la serie completa: cuando te enteras de cosas, cosas, y más cosas. Cuando todo -o bueno, "todo" con Rowling es como al 15% de el real "todo"- hace click. Es cuando Harry pasa de ser un niño, a un adolescente. Me es imposible expresarlo mejor, porque de esa manera terminaría en un mes, pero léanlo y suerte.

Like all the other books in the Harry Potter series, this book is well written and entertaining. While I can't speak about the quality of the translation (I'm not particularly proficient in Spanish yet), this book has proved useful in helping me to learn Spanish due to the fact that it is geared towards a younger audience and thus for the most part has a fairly simple vocabulary.

The third Harry Potter book is awesome. The author really lets the characters evolve and be more real than the previous two books. She lets them have more emotional depth and it's great.

The translation, however, is not that great. There are parts where I simply do no understand why the translators chose one word instead of some other, much better, alternative.

I agree with the first reviewer. The Spanish language can lend itself really well to certain things, and children's literature is definitely one of them. This translation could have been so different. There was such potential and it was just completely ignored.

Here's an example:

The title of the first chapter is "Lechuzas Mensajares," which means "Messenger Owls." The title of the first chapter in the English book is "Owl Post." I simply don't understand why the translators didn't translate it as "Correo de Lechuza" or even a less grammatically correct "Lechuza Correo" or any other variant of the two words.

It really is a good book, it's just sad the translation doesn't do it justice. The publishers really should retranslate it.

J.K. Rowling es un autor magnífico. Me gustaría recomendar esta serie de libros a los lectores del género de la fantasía de todas las edades.

Despues de tanto tiempo volvi a comprar este libro y me doy cuenta que la pelicula no se compara con este libro. Es increible divertidisimo, y un libro adictivo, despues de leer este tienes que comprar el otro y asi con el otro y el otro hasta el ultimo libro. Me hubiera gustado que el final fuera diferente pero aun asi esta buenisimo.

It's really enjoyiable. I love that book is my favorite Harry Potter book. It is very funny and at the same time lovely. And the leanguage that the author used it's very very juvenile and refreshing. Also, for people who dosent speak english and for the ones who does but wanna read something refreshing in spansih it's amusing.

Ahora es cuando se pone interesante, incluso para los adultos. TIENEN que leerlo.

English is my first language and as an adult I love reading the Harry Potter books. Because I'm learning Spanish, who better to practice on than Harry?! The book arrived in excellent condition and very quickly. Quite pleased with my purchase experience.

Este libro es problamente lo mejor en la serie de Harry Potter. Es bien para aprender pruablas nuevas.
