5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous!, February 17, 2000
This review is from: Harry and Willy and Carrothead (Hardcover)
Our daughter, adopted in Korea, was born without part of her left arm/hand and she loves this book. The first time I showed it to her, when she was only 2-1/2, she said "Just like me!" A must-have for any parent of a child with this type of condition.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must for Families with Amputee Children, December 22, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Harry and Willy and Carrothead (Hardcover)
As the parent of an amputee child I can say that this book is a "must have" for your library. It is important for such children to see that they are as normal as any child and in this book, Harry the amputee child, is the hero. When we read the book to our child, his immediate response was "Hey, he's just like me!" Thank-you Judith Caseley.

5.0 out of 5 stars A "must have" book for all children and parents., January 26, 1999
This review is from: Harry and Willy and Carrothead (Hardcover)
Our 2 year old grandson said Harry looks just like he does. But, most importantly, Judith Caseley captures the feelings of parents of children with differences. Before any of us were able to see what we had in our baby we saw what was missing, and were sad and scared. It took a while to be positive. This books reminds us that all children are teased, and although many of us have differences, we are all alike.

4.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommend, November 14, 2002

This review is from: Harry and Willy and Carrothead (Hardcover)
I bought this book to help my 4 yr old son learn about people with a missing limb. My best friend's 9 month old son had to have both hands and feet amputated and I was fearful of how my older son would handle seeing him. We read this quite a few times and really discussed how different people are and about prostethic limbs. When he saw the baby for the 1st time after his illness and surgery, he didn't bat an eye about his disabilities and I feel this book and discussions are the reason why.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good, October 27, 2009
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Harry and Willy and Carrothead (Hardcover)
My daughter was born without part of her left arm/hand and she loves this book.
The book helped her in understanding the behaviour of children towards her arm.
I used it to help her to answer to the question about her arm, hand and prothesis.
I bought a copy also for her teacher, who would like to explain in a simple way about my
daughter to her classmates.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good, October 13, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Harry and Willy and Carrothead (Hardcover)
This was a very nice book. However, I was disappointed when I found that the main character wore a prosthetic arm, only because my daughter does not. My only concern is that she will read the book and want to know where her new arm is...and we really don't feel that she needs one. Other than that, I thought the book was very well done.
