I thought that this is supposed to be a forum for book reviews, not personal attacks! Suzy Q doesn't know what the heck she is talking about. I lived in Santa Fe and worked for Harry and Peyton for over a year and know that they treat all of their staff, hispanic and white, like family. And the reason that I even found this cookbook was because I miss their food so much, that I have periodically done searches to see if they have a website yet to email Peyton and ask for recipes. If the book is beautiful it is because they do things well and have good friends who do things well. I anticipate it to be a reflection of the warm and quirky, yummy eating experience that Harry's is and I can't wait to recieve my copy in the mail. Suzy Q wouldn't know something special if it hit her in the head.

Arizona guy, you have to be kidding! The recipes in here look awesome (and I've been collecting recs on internet for 10 years, have over 1000 real cookbooks and STILL paid full bore for this book ($24.95 her in town)...because I could NOT walk away from these recipes!!) I received the book promptly. I'm truly enjoying the recipes and hope to prepare two new ones each week. A friend of mine had the cookbook and I thought I would really enjoy it.

The recipes in this book are interesting and tasty. I and the person I gave this book to as a gift are very happy with it. The 'lemon ricotta pancakes are especially good

My wife and I went on a 1200 kilometer bicycletrip to the USA this summer (2010), from Denver to Albuquerque. As we didn't have a defined plan, the road led us past Harry's Roadhouse on our way to the Santa Fe KOA. We stopped, we lunched, we were totally sold! Great people, great restaurant, excellent food.
So when we were back in Holland, (the Netherlands) we surfed the Internet for info on this great place. Found the book on Amazon, bought it, and when we do our 'homemade version' of Harry's food it's a little bit like we're there again...

I am a real foodie-- owned, managed restaurants and have about 400 cookbooks-- including this.

Harry's is a delight-- and if you go there and befriend a staff member-- they'll only have good things to say. Some stories go way beyond the employer/employee relationship-- another reviewer called it "family". Susie's personal slam is something she "heard"- and shows her ignorance of restaurant reality.

Harry's isn't just about food. Its the overall experience. Its a roadhouse, with food unlike any road house I imagined. A jam packed Santa Fe gourmet experience. See you at the bar!

Purchased as a gift, but it's hard not to want it for myself. The recipes are delicious and exactly like the restaurant. It's far less trouble for me to drive the 18 hours to Santa Fe and buy one slice of those delicious pies.

The cookbook is more a sales pitch for Santa Fe and their restaurant. Found better and more interessting recipes on the internet. Not sure why they thought their recipes were that good.

I had a friend of mine give me the cookbook as a present and I even went to Santa Fe last month and went to Harrys. Well the cookbook is nice to look at but it is not a real cookbook. More like a coffee table book. Pretty pictures and recipes that just are average. Also after going to Harrys I realize that there is really nothing special about this place but that the owner yells at his staff and the local paper identified him as hiring a lot of illegal aliens. What a disappointment.
