Extremely happy with this purchase. So far, I've only taken this Hartmann with me on one flight--as a carry on. No problem with it fitting in Deltas overhead, but I do wonder if I should have gotten the 20 inch model. I will know for certain after I lug it through Europe for 3 weeks this Summer.
It is made of a very tough nylon material, with very nice belting leather highlights, handles(top and side), and in line sturdy wheels. The handle(bar pull extension) is adequate(feels a tad too loose--not flimsy--just not taut like some other manufacturers). It has that global finder feature which is a nice bonus if the luggage is ever lost(a bar code with it's own specific number privately linked to my name and number). Sturdy lock and key which I programmed. Antique brass hardware and very high quality zippers. The warranty is lifetime, and when I called to register it and the global finder feature, the customer service was very very friendly. The inside is very nice quality, with a laundry bag, hanger(for suits), a leather name tag, and this piece expands in the front if that is desired. I purchased the newer bark color, and for those who like this style, it is the most beautiful piece of luggage I've ever seen. Not the main reason to buy luggage to be sure, but this beauty really stands out in an understated, almost old English or Barbour sort of way. The bark color is darker than the photos on Amazon project. A very very dark earthy green, which makes the leather stand out on top and bottom. It is unisex. Looks masculine with a male owner, and feminine with a fairer sexed possessor. Earth, bark and natural greens seem to be very adaptable to both genders. If I ever use it as checked baggage, it will be very easy to spot amidst the sea of black lookalikes endlessly parading around the carrousel whilst being poked, prodded, and inspected by nearly every impatient owner. So many of those black bags are also branded by the same, extraordinarily popular luggage maker that it makes the entire "where's mine" search and spectacle a rather amusing time passer. I will probably order the 24 inch size next. It's really the checked bags that need to be tough, as we really don't beat up our carry ons that often, so that one may be a more accurate measure of durability, but the lifetime warranty gives me piece of mind, and my dads old Hartmann has been with him for about a thousand years so here's hoping this newer nylon model will wear as well as dads old tweedy companion. 2115|R2ZMUQRMTEOD5Q;
