For someone who grew up through much of these events and missed many others this book is a must-have. It is a great way to look back at the memories and learn a thing or two in the process.

Sid Hartman has been at the very heart of Minnesota sports for the past 60 years. He has forgotten more sports stories than most people know! Fitting then that co-author Joel Rippel helped Sid Hartman record for posterity his greatest Minnesota sports moments. Sid and Rippel spin interesting yarns about baseball, football, Gopher sports, basketball, and other minor sports. The stories in this book are those that many Minnesota sports fans will recall with pleasent nostalgia (except those Viking Super Bowl losses).

This book makes an absolutely fabulous gift (Christmas, birthday) for the older Minnesota sports fan. Many pleasureable hours of reading are contained in this book, as well as wonderful photos that bring the stories alive.

I have a copy of this book and keep it on my bookshelf. It makes a good read to remember the old days and is also a good read in the bathroom (if you get my drift).

If you are a Minnesota sports fan, as I am, then Sid will give you great memories of all of the major pro and college sports teams. His years of expertise and great photos will bring back a lot nostalgia. Sid is the dean of Minnesota sports coverage. A great book at a great value through Amazon.
