This book had me laughing so hard at times that tears were running down my face! This is a truthful account of a cruising couple, not sugar coated. I truly enjoyed this book!

I (hopefully soon, We)will be pulling up anchor and following in your wake to the Caribbean and beyond (no Cape Fear for us though). I have been following your Blog and now have read your book (better half is now reading it also) and will continue to follow your adventures in your Blog. Thank you again for the free read.

If you've dreamt of casting off your land lines and seeing the world from the cockpit of your own boat, read this book. An honest and good humored account of a couple's exploration of the Eastern Caribbean, themselves and their relationship, it also gives a balanced picture of the cruising life. Recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining, February 17, 2012
This review is from: Harts At Sea Sailing to Windward (Kindle Edition)
As a liveaboard cruiser myself, I very much enjoyed this well-written account of one couple's journey towards a life afloat and their subsequent adventures and discoveries. I found that I could relate totally to the joys, fears and frustrations of the First Mate's role, my skipper is still confident of catching a fish...one day! We're currently cruising the Mediterranean, this book made me want to head east for the Caribbean. Well done, Barbara. I'll look forward to the next volume.

This amazing tale is the literary gift of a truly talented, entertaining and exciting author. She is extremely graphic in her description of settings, "challenges (and conquests)," as well as events as they happen on their worldwide sailing adventure aboard the La Luna, a 47' Cheoy Lee manned (or "womaned" at times) by a fearless husband and wife couple who are carrying their love affair for each other and life to the extreme.
"Hart's at Sea" is a definite "must read," and I highly recommend it. It covers their long preparation for the journey and their travels along the coast and around the Caribbean. They introduce us to the characters and challenges they face as they move from island to island. It is an adventure reminiscent of Michner himself or dare I say Hemingway, and we get to go along. I am looking forward (hopefully) to a follow up volume to cover the next leg of their journey as they "wander" the globe with a "lust" for life chasing the next horizon.
