Hartz Flea and Tick Shampoo in 12 oz, doesnt kill fleas like it says it will. Yes it will clean your cat, make it smell nice, give it a shiny coat but kill fleas? Not so much.

I had noticed some fleas on my indoor cat, we do not use regular flea killing products like Advantage Once-A-Month Topical Flea Treatment for Cats Over 9 Lbs (6 Applications)Because we rarely ever need to. So I bought this shampoo and used it and it didnt kill one of them, I even looked in the tub after I did it to check! no floating corpses. So I waited and waited a few days, remember this stuff is supposed to last awhile and keep killing the biting pests! It didnt.

I guess I will have to break down and get the expensive stuff!

I bought this from my local grocery because I found that one of my kitties had developed a flea problem(how? dunno since they are inside cats). I bathed my sweet babies one at a time and got two or three fleas off my big boy cat and a flea massacre off of the smaller cat. She had to have been miserable. I'm not sure about the other review here, but there was definitely carnage in the tub after the baths. Literally fleas everywhere. I was doing this because I used Fibroguard, which was ineffective for the smaller cat(but fine for the bigger cat) and couldn't apply advantage for another few weeks but I couldn't stand for my baby to be miserable.
The only downside to this is that it is very thin shampoo. I ended up with a good bit of shampoo on the wall of the tub because it was so thin. But it definitely worked. Make sure to leave the suds in for at least 5 minutes. How I achieved this was starting at the head of the kitty then working my way down. By the time I reached the end of the tail I used a flea comb to pick dead and dying fleas off of their faces(careful not to get the soap in the eyes). Then rinse. Viola! Much less flea filled cat!

I'm very pleased. I will buy again, but I hope I don't need to!
