i owned this on vinyl in 1968 and wore it out. "twice told tales from the pomegranate forest" is one of the best and most unlikely meditation mood-setting enhancers i have ever encountered. i have been searching for this album ever since and am overjoyed that someone had the good sense to re-release it on cd. the rest of the album (back then and except for "samurai memories") i hated. wellll... i'm older and wiser now. it is, sort of (at times), dated, but parts were way ahead of their time and sound absolutely fresh today. i'd say it's "art-rock" and miles better than the velvet underground and others were doing in that era. "samurai memories" was and is a brilliant piece of post-modern classical music with a definite japanese "edge". a disgracefully under appreciated classic.

Say Yes To Harumi,

"Frank Zappa, called Harumi a "flower-power album" and expressed that he had no desire to listen to it".Too bad Frankie. Songs like "Talk About It", "What A Day for Me", "Caravan" , "Sugar in Your Tea" , "Hunter's of Heaven" have a charm and beauty that i haven't been able to put down a year after turning on to this record. This record has vibes, tunes and production. Apparently the producer recorded the Velvet Underground. FYI : Diplo samples "Hunters of Heaven" on his song "Big Lost".

I had been looking for this "album" for years....had almost given up, when I found it on Amazon. The transaction was easy, the delivery prompt. The sound quality is outstanding. The music brings back another era. Sugar In Your Tea and Caravan are simply amazing....no other CD quite like it. If you want a taste of the "peace and love" decade, this is the one.
