This is the fifth in Suzanne brockmann's S.E.A.L. series for Mira books. It is just as good as the first three. I thought the fourth EVERYDAY AVERAGE JONES was not as good.

Harvard is the only black member of this SEAL team, and we have been waiting for his story.

When FinCOM agents are training with SEAL teams anything can't happen, they have rules. Like only 8 hour days. No out of country training missions, limited runs, etc.

Joe Cat needs for them to realize that they can't do what the SEAL's can. One of the agents is P J Richards, a woman. He wants the members of his team to become friends with one of the FINK agents. Turns out the best agent is PJ.

Harvard has trouble seeing her as an agent and as capable as she is. This causes trouble between them from the start.

PJ is not a trusting soul either. The dance of working together and romantic attraction leads to other problems. Over the course of 8 weeks they manage to overcome most of their problems.

However, on a planned mission, fubar happens. PJ and Harvard are the only ones in place who can rescue Joe Cat who has been shot and captured by tangos. With several Marines dead, they know they only have one chance and very little time.

As with all of Brockmann's books everything works out at the end and we have a good time with these characters.

I can honestly say that this series keeps getting better and better. I missed these stories the first time around, so I've been picking them up with the re-issues! I've been looking forward to Harvard's story for quite sometime and it was well worth the wait.

This was a fast-paced read with all of our old favorite characters coming back (Blue, Joe Cat...) and Harvard has been teamed with the perfect lady.

P.J. has stepped into the world of the Navy SEAL's and she is not going to let any man (including Harvard) tell her she can't do something. She's a perfect match for Harvard. Harvard believes that a combat zone is just not the place for a lady, especially a lady that makes him feel the things he feels like desire, and passion. She may be with FInCOM and he may admire the way her mind works, but he wants nothing to do with her form of distraction out in the field. Problem with his thinking is he's dealing with one strong willed lady who is more then capable of taking care of herself and perhaps him as well!

This is a series is great. The characters are real and you can't help but be drawn into their world. This is a series and an author that I highly recommend.

This is one of the best books written by Suzanne Brockmann. Harvard is likeable and has an emotional side enhanced by his nurturing mother and sisters. P.J. is belivable as a virgin heroine - with a totally believable reason for being one!

But that doesn't stop this book from packing a whollop when it comes to sexual tension. Smoke rises from the cover!

Kudos to Suzanne for the African-American characters withouth the typical stereotypes! Even though there is mention of a "larger than usual" anatomy part, that is balanced with Harvard's He-Man physique!

As an African American woman,I especially enjoyed Harvard and P.J's story. The "TD&D" series is a favorite of mine. As fellow agents yet from different agencies the two of them fall hard for each other! They just don't know what to do about it.Being freinds however is a good place to start. Of course the romance sizzles after the truce is declared. Harvard is not the sterotypical African Amer. male nor is P.J.sterotyped. I like that.Thanks Suzanne for a fabulous book! Please hurry the next issue!

This is a great story. I Love it and highly recommend it.I own the original copy of this book and I must say that I was glad when I heard that it was being reprinted. However, after seeing the covers of the previously reprinted "TDD" books, Prince Joe, Frisco's Kid and Everyday Average Jones, I was disappointed with the cover that Harlequin chose for Harvard's Education. With him being the only black member of the SEAL team I was lookig forward to a beautiful cover and instead we got silhouettes that unless you knew the race of the hero and heroine you wouldn't know that they were black. I admire Ms. Brockmann's writing and have all of the TDD series but as a fan an avid reader I was totally disappointed with the new cover.

Daryl aka Harvard is the only member of Alpha Squad that actually has had a very happy normal childhood. So happy that it's tearing him up when his parents decide to sell their home of 30 years off the coast of Boston to move to warmer climes. PJ's always had to work for everything. She's 5 foot 2, and 100 lbs. And no one on the CSF - Combined SEAL / FInCOM Antiterrorist team thinks she can handle the training missions. Harvard's fighting real hard to overcome his bias to women in combat and his overwhelming desire to protect and to make PJ his own. PJ's earned his respect and Harvard acknowledges that she's just as good as some of the men he's fought along side. When a training mission suddenly becomes very real and men are dying, Harvard has to give up his urge to protect PJ and agree to let her help him rescue his team mates.

Ms. Brockmann's heroes are always evolving. Harvard learns some valuable lessons and they add to his already remarkable strength of character. PJ is dynamite. She sometimes comes across as having a chip on her shoulder but we get to see her intelligence and compassion. These two definitely set some fires.

I'm writing this in response to a post below. I saw it quoted and I don't want people believing Ms Brockmann is so sloppy. The quote from the book is, "They'd taken an Air Force flight all the way to South Korea. Now, by sea, they were approaching the tiny island nation where their latest in training op was to take place." They flew to Korea and from there went by sea to the (fictional) island nation. As far as I can remember, Brockmann uses fictional countries for her stories.

I'm attempting to correct an error made by the reviewer 'scorpio' who said that Ms. Brockmann made an uneducated error by calling Korea an island nation. The name of the nation is not disclosed in this book, but in its subsequent sequel, It Came Upon a Midnight Clear (Hawken's Heart), we learn that it happened in Hong Kong. In this book, it is only ever referred to as "the island nation' or 'Southeast Asia.' The only mention of Korea is the nickname of one of the tango's, Kim - The Korean, which we learn in the next book is because his father was from there. So this book does not contain a glaring factual error. It is well written and entertaining.

This is the best one so far, of course I said that about Jones book after reading his book. My friend and I have a saying, "Our favorite book of Suzanne Brockmann is the one that we are reading at the moment."
But this one was very good. I cried and I laughed, as I do in all of her other books. I really enjoyed this book! It had more action than some of her last ones in this series. Very good!!!

I have been reading everything Suzanne Brockmann writes, and this is one of her best books. I really like her hero *and* her heroine. A very good match. Slam-bang ending.
