Product Description

7000 CUBIC INCHES OF PACK SPACE. Dimensions of Main and Lower Compartments - 39"x12"x15.5". The main compartment is top loading with a flap and top compartment that clip down over it. This includes three draw straps in front which allow for expansion. Lower area is accessible by an outside U-Zipper or by the main compartment from the top. Long-Distance padded shoulder and waist straps. Multiple adjustments on shoulder straps and waist straps allow you to choose a good fit for your back. Also - Shoulder straps can be disconnected at the center of the pack and moved up and down for proper adjustment. Total of 6 adjustments of 1.3" each. Air Flow Back pads for the maximum in comfort. Rear Gigantic ZIPPER acts to compress pack loads for greater stability and comfort. Side, Top, Middle and Bottom Compression straps for the most secure loading. Plenty of extra straps, bungee shock cord and loops for ice ax, walking stick, climbing gear or what have you. Already a popular pack in Asia, new to the US. Two Internal Frame Stays and flexible back panel for one of the most stable and comfortable frame and support systems available. This pack is roomy with lots of expandable space yet very lightweight. It is being used for international travel (checked airline bag) instead of backpacking. It works well and is a very good value.

This backpack was a fantastic bargain and so I took a gamble. I took it on a two-week trip through Europe.

The backpack has good room and an interesting layout. I like the zippers on the side that give you access to main compartment. The elastic cords on the pack let you easily put a sweater or raingear securely on the outside. The padding on the straps is comfortable. I had trouble getting waistband tight enough (I have a 32" waist) and it would loosen up over the course of a short walk. The top flap that covered the main compartment was a good design and could fit over a very full main compartment. The three straps allows you to secure the top and cinch you load very tight.

My chief issues with this backpack are its durability. The first thing I broke was one of the zippers on the side pouches. I did have the thing packed pretty tight but I'd only been using it for three days at that point - a little early for failure, in my opinion.

The next thing to fail was the strap that holds the top of the shoulder straps. The design here is very poor. It is too little stitching to hold the amount of weight that you can pack in this backpack. I did not do any trail hiking which would have been even more rugged I simply used it to get my gear between hotels and train and bus stations. I broke it picked up backpack - and not with a quick sharp hoist either.

I would recommend this backpack for a luggage holder for clothes, but not for hiking.

I am traveling to Africa with a friend and needed a carry-on luggage that I would also be able to carry around myself for long periods of time when I get there. I have packed all my stuff into it, including my sleeping bag, and I have practices carrying it around the house. It has so many straps that you can pull tighter after you've zipped it up, so it ends up a smaller size than you think at first. The padded straps make it really comfortable to hold for long periods of time and it has the added support of chest and waist straps. You can even put your water bottle on the side. It's a perfect back pack for what I needed for my trip.
