5.0 out of 5 stars The Most Fun on Gameboy for Years!
Absolutely the best farming simulation ever. I've played the SNES version, the first GB version, and both were fantastic. The essence of love is also put into the game, letting you marry village people and keep lots of loveable animals. In the game, there's farming, love, and economic survival! What more do you want? 100/10!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Saving Problems
This game is soooooo frustrating! Everytime I save the game and not play for awhile, I turn it back on all the saved data is erased! I hope Natsume has improved on Harvest Moon 3!

Whether you're already a Harvest Moon expert or are just looking for a great game to play I recommend this game and give it 5 stars.Though it's non-combat game play may sound boring to you, This game will entertain you for time to come.so here is the story line, the towns gotten pretty poor and wants to turn an abandoned farm into an amusement park for publicity for the town.See, thats where you come in.You've got 3 years to save the farm and plenty of fun that goes along with it.Plant crops and flowers, enjoy fun mini-games.The town is also great, there are many shops in which you can buy things and talk to townspeople.you also get to chose your pet, as well as take care of cows chicken and sheep.Plus there are tons of secret areas to explore, so what are you waiting for...buy Harvest Moon 2 now.......

This is one of the best games out there for game boy color. The Mayor of your town wants you to run a farm because the town is running low on money. He will give you 3 years to run the farm. Your town has buildings like a seed shop,A tool shop,A Church, A Livestock store, and more. You can choose to be a boy or a girl farmer. You can choose a pet has a dog or a cat.

You can have animals like cows, chickens, and sheep. Later on is the game you can have a horse and you can race him with other people. When you get your saddlebags you can use him as a shipping device. You can grow lots of kinds of crops.Like corn, peanuts,Watermelens,And lots more. You got to grow grass to store in your silo to feed your animals.Your farm has buildings like your house, cow barn,a chicken coop,A wood ben,And more building but you can build them later.More things on your farm includes a fishing pond,A crop field,And Animal pastures There is a mountian behind your farm where you can pick berries and mushrooms.Take a dip in the hot springs or just take a walk. This is a very very fun game And thats why I rate is five stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Farming Simulator, January 8, 2001

Harvest Moon 2 is a great game. It is relaxing, serene, and will keep you playing for hours at a time. The object is to create a booming farm within three years. The game can be challenging at first, but will become fun very quickly. It upset me at first because the instruction booklet does not go into great detail at all, but like I said, when you figure it out, it will become your favorite game. You can play as a male or female farmer, and you can also pick a dog or a cat as a pet. There are many challenges, but overall a great game. If you are interested in something different from the majority of GBC games, I would recommend this game to you. It is a really great game!

5.0 out of 5 stars Almost Perfect!, February 12, 2001

This RPG is so close to perfect that I had to give it 5 stars. My kids ordered this and played it night and day for a week. I picked it up on a Friday evening and could not put it down all weekend. My wife thinks I'm nuts! This is great fun for kids and adults.

What's wonderful is that this is a totally non-violent, yet fully engaging gaming experience. The graphics are well-done. The characters are cute. I only have 3 suggestions for improvement: 1) It is sometimes tricky to place your character in the proper position to use a tool, such as the hoe. 2) I wish the game would stop you from planting seeds in the wrong spot. I wasted 500G's of grass seed when I accidentally threw it all over the inside of my house. I almost cried! 3) I wish that HM2 kept the part about finding a wife.

Please support the creation of more nonviolent games by buying this one. My kids loved it so much that we will be planting a garden this summer and raising some chickens!

5.0 out of 5 stars No weapons = 100% Happieness for parents, April 13, 2001

first of all this is a game that would apeal to the 12 & up age group. And people who like the bang bang blow thier heads off games wouldnt really like it that much, if at all. you start off having the mayor of the city giving you 3 years to bring this old farm back into business, to do this you must get rid off all the rocks and weeds before you can til the ground. its kinda confusin how to get the items and how to plant seeds and junk like that because the little instruction book dont help that much(no offense Natsume). another bad thing is that the days go by very fast about 5-10 min if you play the whole day up to 12'o clock. i rated this game with five stars because it has no guns, swords ect. plus it is very entertainin especially on long car rides....

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best games for the Gameboy, January 26, 2001

This game is DEFINATLY one of the best games for the gameboy. you start off on a farm, you either have to make it a booming farm, or the land will be turned into a cheesy amusment park. You have to clear the feilds of weeds, rocks, and tree stumps before you can till it to plant seeds. If you water them every day, they will grow, then you can sell them. You can also raise cows. They are the Cutest drawn cows i have ever seen! In addition to cows, you can raise chickens and sheep. If you have a friend with Harvest Moon 2, you can trade cows, chickens, and sheep. it is essential to comleting a treasure hunt that gives you something that is one of the best items in the game. There are yearly festivals, including horse races, thanksgiving, and the new years. I would encourage anyone who loves to be ocupied for hours with an interesting game to buy this!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesomely fun game, October 15, 2003
By
This review is from: Harvest Moon 2 (Game Cartridge)
Harvest Moon 2 is an insanely fun game, which is pretty surprising, seeing as, well...it's a video game based on a farm. Whoever came up with the idea though, is intelligent.

The game starts off with the mayor of a small town being told that a historic farm will be turned into an amusement park. The mayor takes it upon himself to hire someone to fix up the farm, and make enough profit to save it. That's where you come in. You grow fruits and veggies (every season you get new ones), raise animals once you have enough feed/money, and you can fish and gather berries. Every so often new garden tools, extenions to your farm, or plants are available. But, you only have three years to raise enough money to save the farm.

Harvest Moon 2 is really, really fun, but there's a tick (it might just be in my game though, but I'm not sure) - you can't ever buy chickens. They're cheap, and a major source of money, but every time I go to buy them, the shop owner says I don't have enough feed. (I have the max. capacity of food stored in the silo.)

Overall grade - A

4.0 out of 5 stars Really Good, But Not Perfect, August 13, 2002
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Harvest Moon 2 (Game Cartridge)
This game is excellent! Like all the other AWESOME Harvest Moon games, you take care of animals, go to and enter festivals, and grow crops. I also think the mini games are cool, and I haven't seen them in the other versions, I especially like Whack-A-Mole. The only thing is that you can't get married, you need ALOT of money to get extensions for your farm, and you don't have a rucksack.. that's alot of running back and forth! This game is good, but I suggest you get Harvest Moon 3 for Game Boy Color instead, or one of the other versions for different game systems. Like my title, really good, but not perfect.

5.0 out of 5 stars A bit tiresome but very rewarding, January 29, 2001
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Harvest Moon 2 (Game Cartridge)
I'm an American but I happen to live in Japan, so I grabbed my chance to acquire Harvest Moon 2 before it was sold out to the gaming freaks of my present country. I fell in love with the first edition of Harvest Moon, and so was encouraged to get the second. It's very interesting. Animals are cute, lots of work do be done, events taking place, all you'd want of an RPG game. I strongly recommend this to someone who has lots of time on their hands.
