5.0 out of 5 stars fun
My daughter loves this (shes 16) The game is a nice non violent alternative. Do take time to read the instructions as it gives a lot of helpful hints... or google cheats for the game

2.0 out of 5 stars A Lazy Port
First of all, do yourself a favor and get the Gamecube version. It's almost exactly the same. By almost I mean there are slight bits of the game that are shaved off here and there which is never good. In fact if you were hoping on playing the Wii version through as a girl, tough luck they took that out. This game is really fun and one of my favorites... on the Gamecube. I...

I was excited to see a Wii version for 15 bucks at my local Game Stop, but when I stuck it in I found it to be a poorly ported shell of the game that was. There are NO motion controls, not even a waggle. Yeah, I know. Why port the game to the Wii when you're going to map everything to buttons? And it's mapped really badly. Buttons are mapped nonsensically and inconveniently, just trying to pick up objects is a chore. If you have played a Harvest Moon game before then you know this is an issue. I gave the game 5 stars because it is a 5 star game, but not on the Wii. I wouldn't bother paying much for it. Other than its exclusivity there are not a lot of reasons to own it, but I warn you it's pretty easy to get it cheap if you're a collector. This version gets 2 stars as an overall product.

I LOVE Harvest Moon, always have. But to be honest, this game was poorly created and irritating to play. After an hour I finally just shelved it.

I absolutely LOVE this game. I've played games for the Wii, playstation and DS, and this is one of the best ones yet. You can do, pretty much anything! After a while, though, it does get boring, but the challenge of having a kid, raising animals and having a farm is priceless!

This game is okay, but I played Harvest Moon Animal Parade first not knowing that this one was out way before that one so of course this one was not nearly as good. Have only just started to play it, but I can tell it's not going to be nearly as fun to me as the Animal Parade was. Seems more small scale and simplistic. But, like I said, I haven't gotten very far and I'm sure I would have liked it if I hadn't done the other one first.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't Buy This From Amazon, October 17, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

For all of those in the know, this game was originally released on GameCube. As a special promotion, it was re-made to be played on the Wii and marketed through GameStop. There are sellers here that are selling this game for 2-3 times the price of what GameStop is offering. Don't be duped by the greedy sellers here.

I have yet to play the game on the Wii, but I imagine that the graphics haven't changed much from what they were as a GameCube game, meaning that compared to other Wii games, the graphics will be kind of lacking. Still, what matters most is that this game is still incredibly entertaining.

If you're hesitating as to whether or not you should invest in this game, head over to the GameCube version of this Harvest Moon and read the reviews there first. Personally, I enjoyed the hyper cuteness of the game, including the oversized heads and cutesy sounds.

I would have given this title 5 stars if not for the fact that in the Wii version you can't play as a girl. I assume this was done in order to bypass a game-ending glitch I've heard about from the GC version, but I would still really like to play as a girl! That aside, the game is really fun! I've gotten hours and hours of entertainment from it. It takes a little getting used to some of the changes from the Wonderful Life series, but ultimately it is a triumph, and glitch-free! Yay!

as u may have seen on the other reviews that the wii version u couldn't play as a girl that may be an inconvenience if u are a girl but if u are a guy then it shouldn't matter b/c as a male gamer i wouldn't want to play a game where u have to marry a guy instead of a female that will make u feel awkward even though it is just a game. i had no problems with this game and for 15.00 at gamestop is not a bad price for it. i gave it a 5 stars b/c i personally enjoyed it. hope this helps

5.0 out of 5 stars The Harvest Goddess has turned to stone, September 10, 2009
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Harvest Moon: Magical Melody (Video Game)
The Harvest Goddess has turned to stone and the Harvest Sprites need your help to bring her back. You need to collect Musical Notes throughout the game in hopes of restoring her to her former self. There are 100 Musical Notes in the game and to collect the notes you must do a variety of different things, some more challenging than others. Such as shipping a certain number of items, winning a festival or making friends with the wild animals found around your farm. Only by collecting a certain number of notes will the Harvest Goddess come back!

*Compete against a rival farmer! Your productivity will be judged on a daily basis against that of your rival's...you will also compete against your rival in the festivals!
*Cultivate a wide variety of crops and trees!
*Raise cows, sheep, horses and chickens!
*Purchase different plots of land and expand your farm by building various extensions!
*New elements to the Harvest Moon series that are appealing to Nintendo's Animal Crossing huge fan base! - Buying Property, buying and arranging furniture, etc...
*Magical Melody offers a side story of trying to revive the Harvest Goddess.
*Harvest Moon: Magical Melody (GameCube) was a "Player's Choice" title!
