5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book
When I first bought the game I had no idea on what to do. I tried playing it for a while before I knew about the book. It took me 5 games to play because I messed up on all of them, but when I bought the book, I read it over and used it along with the game. It helped me a whole lot. After using the book, my percentage was 100%. I had 10 chickens, 10 cows, and 10 sheep...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good over view, but still lacking
This guide is wonderful if you really needs the "nuts & bolts" of the game and what you need to do to pass the third year mark without being kicked out of town ^_^. However, there are many scenarios which are just covered lightly, or not at all. Exactly what should you do When Kia makes his announcement about Popouri at the end of the summer? What's the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book, June 7, 2002

This review is from: Harvest Moon: Back to Nature: Prima's Official Strategy Guide (Paperback)
When I first bought the game I had no idea on what to do. I tried playing it for a while before I knew about the book. It took me 5 games to play because I messed up on all of them, but when I bought the book, I read it over and used it along with the game. It helped me a whole lot. After using the book, my percentage was 100%. I had 10 chickens, 10 cows, and 10 sheep. They all had maximum hearts. All the Sprites had maximum hearts and I was married to Karen with maximum hearts and a child with maximum hearts. I thought I could never marry Karen. My farm was excellent, pretty, and worth working on. So I say to everyone who buys this game, buy the strategy guide. Without it, you can't figure out the game!!!!!!

With this book, I got to get all the secrets in Harvest Moon: Back to Nature for the playstation! I am friends with all the villagers, girls, harvest sprites, and have a masterful farm! All because this book has a recipe guide, character guide etc. etc. It's GREAT! I highly recomend this guide for when you get Harvest Moon: Back to Nature.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good over view, but still lacking, February 15, 2001

This review is from: Harvest Moon: Back to Nature: Prima's Official Strategy Guide (Paperback)
What's the point of the town thief? What about if you baby is sick? Also, many little details are left out, such as many of the favorite treats (and least favorite) of the towns folk. Some things are just plain wrong. Like saying you get the better fishing pole after you have a pond full of 50+ fish, not to mention many of the recipes are incorrect (You might want to note Chef Sprite's recipe, since it's isn't even listed!).

Again, it's a good guide for the basics. You can complete the game with it & do well. However it's no where near complete, and It could have been a much better guide with more attention to detail.

1.0 out of 5 stars Manuals over 30 bucks are rip-offs, May 8, 2006
This review is from: Harvest Moon: Back to Nature: Prima's Official Strategy Guide (Paperback)
I can't believe the price of the manual is higher than the price of the game itself. I guess the game is kinda pointless without the manual...you will not know your goals or how to achieve them in a decent time frame. However, you do not have to fish out this ridiculous amount of money for the manual. Just go to primagames.com and look for Havest Moon under guides and you can download it just for [...]

3.0 out of 5 stars I know it's informitive but..., February 15, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Harvest Moon: Back to Nature: Prima's Official Strategy Guide (Paperback)
Ok, I know that this guide has alot of secret info and all that but let's think for a second. it's $75!! FAQ's on the net (Especially Gamefaqs.com) have equal or greater than this information for FREE!
Sorry to be a critic but, seriously. Anyway, the game isn't that hard. I beat it completely and never used a guide. It's quite easy, even comparable to Animal Crossing.

So, think before you spend $75 on information you don't really need or can get for free. -_-

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Handy! A good investment!, May 20, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Harvest Moon: Back to Nature: Prima's Official Strategy Guide (Paperback)
Not only is it all orginized, neat, and made much cuter with the pictures and borders and such but it is all correct! I thought of saving myself some money by using online gaming sites but I was presented with wrong infromation that really messed up the nice pace I was moving at. Websites often also left out important details or somthiing like that. I found this book VERY HELPFUL in keeping my infromation clean, collected and fun! Enjoy!

3.0 out of 5 stars just a correction, April 21, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Harvest Moon: Back to Nature: Prima's Official Strategy Guide (Paperback)
i really think this book is a bit of a waste of money, since the info is scant at best and a little frustrating. also, lets be honest, you can find almost everything in it online anyways..

oh yes,one other thing.. you do get a better fishing pole if you have more than 50 fish in your pond, you just need to have an empty space to carry another tool, so just put something away in your toolbox.. see?..thats what i mean by frustrating, it just doesn't tell you enough

1.0 out of 5 stars A complete waste of money, May 28, 2001
By

This review is from: Harvest Moon: Back to Nature: Prima's Official Strategy Guide (Paperback)
A strategy guide for Harvest Moon? Kinda sounds too good to be true...and it is. It looks like the authors tried to get away with as little as possible because the guide does not even feature color pictures! The season walkthroughs are poorly organized and the (spoiler!) recipes are often inaccurate and undependable. This "complete" guide is even missing a few of them! Save your money, friends, because you can get all of the information for free on the 'Net. I guess the only real use is for people who have extremely restricted Internet access like me.

This guide is a huge help. I was a little lost when I first started playing but this book helped me learn all the little details. This book is most helpful for learning what the townspeople like and dislike. Which if you didn't know already you would use up alot of your hard earned money getting them gifts they might hate! Also it's helpful to learn the recipes. Some of the recipes in this book have still not been told to me from any of the characters. Have fun!

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Harvest Moon: Back to Nature: Prima's Official Strategy Guide (Paperback)
Thank you for the Harvest Moon strategy guide. The footnotes in the book are helpful as well. You helped save me some time of always going online to websites to figure out how to find information on the game. Again thanks a lot for the book, have been looking for one for a while.

Sincerly,
Jessica
