Volume 4 Gives us More Great Harvey!!,
By Mark Arnold "movie/tv, comic book and animati... (Saratoga, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Harvey Comics Classics Volume 4: Baby Huey (Harvey Classics Library) (v. 4) (Paperback)
Although a lot of people are not particularly fond of Baby Huey as a character, I happen to like him quite a bit. Artist Bill Wray once did a parody of him called "Huge Retarded Duck"
Though Huey may not be for all tastes due to his imbecility, you cannot beat a series such as this for sheer brash humor, something sometimes missing in other comic books designed for kids. Cabarga and Beck score again, however one wishes that they would give individual credits for the many artists, writers and inkers that worked on these fine stories instead of just an overall blanket list of former Fleischer and Famous Studios employees. Looking forward to Harvey Comics Classics Volume 5: The Harvey Girls.

duck out of luck,
By Tony Medeiros "Sandbox World" (Montreal) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Harvey Comics Classics Volume 4: Baby Huey (Harvey Classics Library) (v. 4) (Paperback)
Baby Huey had a certain charm to him in both film and in comics. His innocence excused his stupidity or maybe it was more his awkwardness of his body adjusting to his severely under developing brain. Between his father and the fox you had to root for him. The fox who wanted to eat him and his father had a short fuse for the calamity that followed suit where Huey went. His intentions were always good, but the result was always painful for those around him. Jerry Beck has a wonderful intro in this fourth of a great collection of the Harvey line of comic books by Dark Horse. This is a line is greatly missed comics. Today kids would never go near these type of books. Sad. This is for the fan of halcyon times when things seemed a bit better. Youth always seems better to some. Not for Huey, he was always in some kind of trouble but still managed to find a joyful way out of his trouble. Unlike the Coyote who chased the Road Runner, this was one fox you never felt sorry for. His veracious appetite for baby duck was not an endearing attribute.Harvey Toons - The Complete Collection

doesn't buy cheap paperbacks that rip and bend and only contain black and white masters with no color. So guess what Donny will pass on the Harvey titles until there is something like a hardcover(s) with a best of selection of stories.
