Very Good Information
This is a very good book for home owners whose house foundations have cracked, or who are worried about the possibility of cracking. The information is laid out logically and in a conversational style that is easy to read and not overly boring. The one drawback for American readers is that the book is written by British authors and is therefore very UK-specific at times...

good book for someone not professional
its a good book for someone how is not a pro. For proffesionals its medium. Bad think is that as many simiral books is talking only for house design in UK wich is much simpler than in other countries with higher seismicity (Greece etc).

This is a very good book for home owners whose house foundations have cracked, or who are worried about the possibility of cracking. The information is laid out logically and in a conversational style that is easy to read and not overly boring. The one drawback for American readers is that the book is written by British authors and is therefore very UK-specific at times (e.g., when discussing common foundation types, applicable laws, information on insurance claims, etc.). Still, for demystifying the causes of foundation problems, I have not seen a better resource.
