Shhhhh! The object of this game is to "sneak" around the game board and obtain that covetted midnight snack from the refrigerator WITHOUT waking up the plastic daddy! My five year old daughter LOVES this game, and, to tell the truth, I don't even mind playing it with her, (which is more than I can say for certain other games)! Don't Wake Daddy has many "pluses" going for it: It's fast, (i.e. NOT BORING!), simple enough for even a preschooler, (no reading involved), and best of all, includes the exciting element of surprise since you never know which click of the alarm clock is going to make daddy POP up out of his plastic bed, (and cause his stocking-cap to go flying)! There are many obstacles along the way to the refrigerator, though, such as a vase about to topple over, a baby crying, and an apparently loud cucko-clock! This game is always fun, and in addition, helps with color and number recognition. I'm glad we own it!

We bought this game for my 3 year old son. The object is to get from your bed to the refrigerator without waking up daddy. Daddy is awakened by a push of the alarm clock. Not every push will make the daddy figure sit up in bed with a loud click, but at some point it does. To add to the drama, daddy wears a little cap which often times comes flying off when he sits up. I have to say that my son loves this game. Although the objective is NOT to wake daddy, he gets really upset if his alarm pushes don't wake daddy. The educational aspects of the game are great. Kids are challenged to match colors as well as complex designs. Then counting comes into it when pushing daddy's alarm. Of course my son always tries to get a couple extra pushes in there. An improvement that could be made is improving the durability of the cards. The cards are used for both matching play as well as the character you move around the board. They are made of a heavy stock paper and very quickly become torn, ripped, and basically beaten up. If the company fixed this problem by making the cards out of say a hard compressed cardboard, I would give it 5 stars. As it is, the game is fun and very exciting for youngsters. I would recommend it. Just remember to keep the cards out of harm's way.

Lots of fun! My four-year-old daughter has had great fun playing this game. The rules are simple enough even for a child of her age to easily understand. Also, it doesn't have a million small pieces to keep track of. The game goes fairly quickly -- with 2 or 3 players, you can complete the game in 10 to 15 minutes -- which I think is a definite plus. I don't think it has a lot of educational value, although players do have to match colors and count the number of times they must push the alarm clock button. But whatever it lacks in educational value, it makes up for with fun!

Both of my children, ages six and five, love to play this game! The rules are simple - spin the color wheel, and move your piece to the coordinating color. Then, press the button on Daddy's bed according to the number on the color space. Watch out! Daddy may spring up and surprise you! Game is a lot of fun, but one warning - it can take a long time to play!

My son, who turned five years old, yesterday, received this game for Christmas almost a month ago. It is by far his favorite game, and I still have to play it with him at least once a day. He loves the suspense of not knowing when daddy is going to wake up, and still gets so excited when he finally does. The game is a bit educational because you have to know when to give up your card (after daddy wakes up), and you have to count the spaces when you move ahead. You also have to count the number of times to press the alarm clock. He loves playing this game with his friends too and his friends love the suspense of the game.

My son thought the title was so funny & had to have it. Even though he was really sick, he was SO excited to play & LOVED it! There is no reading & I love that he has to practice counting. He also learned some new words from the picture cards! I really, really think this is a great game for little ones. The "alarm" button is a little difficult for our son to press all the way down, but overall, this game is super fun! It's a break from all the other games out there. The element of suprise really does hold our son's interest, though. He cracked up EVERY time the daddy jumped up! He wanted to play over and over again!

This toy lasted all of one game. The 'Daddy' won't stay down. Also, the toy is too big and the box lid won't stay in place. This is too bad because the game is very cute and fun for everyone. My kids were real disappointed.

My three year old daughter gave this to her daddy for Christmas (so she could play it with him, of course!). Well, the fun has been on-going ever since! We play this game at least once a week (much more than that when we first got it) and it is holding up very well for us. (Our only problem has been that my daughter's younger friend once decided to chew on a couple of cards!...but we can still use them.)
What we like about this game: -It helps children practice color recognition, counting (as they push the alarm), number recognition, and matching the pictures on the board to the ones on the cards. -The whole concept of the game is cute and fun! My daughter loves it when daddy's hat flies off, and also LOVES it when she gets to take a card from me (or her dad) when she does wake daddy. What we think could be improved: -The alarm is a bit hard to push. -The people cards all look too much alike. More variety would be nicer and help us remember better which one is ours on the board. -The people cards should be made out of hard plastic and be self-standing. I've never liked the cardboard ones that you have to shove in and out of the little stands. After a while, the bottom edge of the card gets too frayed, and the whole thing of having to switch them in and out of the stands is just annoying. (There are 8 people cards--4 girls and 4 boys--but only 4 stands.) -The box should be just a little taller (or the bed just a little shorter) so that the lid can go down tight when you put it away. So, a few complaints, but we've enjoyed it so much that I still felt it was worth 5 stars.

My two daughters, 2 and 4, just received this as a gift last week. I must say that it is the best kids game that I have come across so far ( and we do have a lot of games ). My kids love it and I don't mind playing it when they ask, which is everyday. Even daddy likes it too. This game is worth the money and is sure to be a big hit!

This is a neat game and the concept is great however, it can end up being very, very, very long! Especially if you play with more than one other person because the cards get dealt so thinly, and you land on spaces and you have to push the alarm clock so often. I once played a game that lasted an hour and a half! Now I'm not complaining about that fun that I had with my family but, this is not the sort of game you can just sit down and play a quick round of. You have to be in it for the long haul! Still a great game that teaches numbers, counting, and ever a little bit of colors...if you have the patience.
