This game is so much fun!! There are 4 categories that you can play on 3 different board sizes, depending on how long you want to play. I played the original version, but the new categories in this are up to date and a lot of fun. The categories are: Data Head where you must decide if things are true or false, or other such ideas. There is Creative Cat, which is where you must draw with or without your eyes open, or even sculpt with the included "clay". There is Word Play where the people on your team must take turns to spell a word backwards, for example, Mom says "o", sister "g", friend "n", Mom "i", sister "m", friend "a", Mom "l", sister "f" to get the word "flamingo". This is a real card by the way, so practice up!! Word play also has unscramble the words and fill in the blanks. The final category will have you humming or whistling a tune, playing charade like games, or impersonating famous folks. My best recommendation with this game is to have someone from all age groups or someone who is familiar with very current events on each team. I had to impersonate Victoria Beckham and Beyonce, while my sister hummed GnR's Welcome to the Jungle, and my mother-in-law impersonated a back up dancer and zombie.

A super big plus is there is not a lot of rules and for confusing areas we just all settle on a way to play the game and can bend the rules as necessary or not. Totally fun game! Way worth the purchase!!

As someone who has played the original Cranium before many times I was very disappointed to find that the "new" Cranium was far too easy. The questions on this new version seem overly simple compared to the difficulty the old version had. I was not the only one in our group who thought this was the case. This made the game not as fun and challenging as it used to be. Overall pretty disappointed with this version.

I bought this game for my sister in law. I have the original cranium which we loved to play. I like the new version better. It seems a little easier but a lot sillier. There is a sideshow card that requires you to use a teammate as a puppet to act out an action. It's hilarious. We had a great time and did not get as frustrated as with the original version.

Not happy at all. I got the new simplified, easy version of Cranium which is not what is pictured.
I paid more for this set expecting what is pictured and got the cheaper version which I could have paid half the price for on amazon. Feeling ripped off!

Cranium combines all different types of games in one: Trivia, charades, drawing, singing, spelling, etc. Its excellent for a group and the play can last a long time. Great for a snow day! The clay does dry out but is easily replaceable. I've had my game for years and just gave it as a gift!

Perfect condition shipped quickly! We absolutely love this game! Very impressed that it has a shorter/ longer game board so depending on how much time you have this game is still an option. Also I liked that I was able to find a newer version to the old game as the question cards in the old one are pretty dated if you are playing with anyone under 25 =P

Surprisingly fun game that is great for all groups....all you need is at least four people but the amount of people that can play is limitless.

The questions are fun and the games really make both parties laugh. It's challenging and there is no way that anyone can cheat which makes the game fantastic.

I would recommend this game for families as well as couples game night (and I didn't see anything inappropriate for kids, but it might be too hard).

Very cheap quality. Cannot be compared to the original. The board is tiny and flimsy, the cards don't even fit on the board. There is a small amount of clay, not enough to make proper sculptures. I will incorporate the new, up to date cards into the old original game and toss the rest. Very disappointed. Shame on Habro. The quality was not worth the price.

Having an extended family who loves to play games during get-togethers, I was embarrassed when I introduced them to Cranium and had them wishing we played Apples to Apples (yuck!).

I remember playing Cranium years ago and having a blast, so it caught me off guard when I found the new version to fail with both my family and my wife's family during separate playing sessions. Either my memory cheats me or the "New" Cranium is just far worse than the original.

The issue lies in a duplicity of questions: questions are either incredibly difficult or childishly easy. But wait! I have examples.

Difficult questions:
1) There are questions that not all ages can even comprehend. For example, my mother-in-law and my grandmother would never in a million years guess that during a pictionary round I was drawing "America's Next Top Model" the TV show. They never watched it and had never heard of it. There are many examples of this. Another is having to hum the song "Rehab" by 2000s pop artist Amy Winehouse. Only the Gen Y/Millenials in my family even knew who she was, and only 1 person could pick out the song. I don't think this is specific to my family or my married family.

2) Some of the questions are beyond reasonable difficult, like the wheel of fortune style where the hint is "Elevators" and the puzzle is _ ti_ _t_ _. Would you have guessed "stiletto" correctly?

Easy questions:
1) Great anger arises when a question is too easy. For example, close your eyes and do a pictionary sketch of an ice cream truck. Super simple, you can draw a truck and an ice cream cone with your eyes closed.

2) There's a "live puppet" where you have a teammate stand up and be a puppet, and someone else is the controller, and you act something out and your team guesses what it is. My team guessed in 2 seconds when I pulled my dad's hand to his face that I was acting out "shaving." So easy it's not even fun.

Between the easy questions and the hard questions, the number of people who could have fun with this game would be limited, and it's definitely not a cross-generational game. Like all games with play-doh, ours crusted into a brick by the time we opened it up a second time (granted we had so little fun the first time, it had been a year, but it was lid locked so clearly just not meant to last).

I remember reading the game is for 16 or older, but bought for my 13 year old and her friends anyway. There are couple of cards that do not make sense to them, but super fun for the most part. Hope to play this game with some girlfriends soon.
