I felt that I should chime in to counter the negative review previously posted. My children (ages 5, 8, and 12) all love this game. Our 5-year old regularly beats her older siblings and adults, so Pictureka is a game that can be enjoyed by everyone. In fact, our 3-year old even likes to join in the fun (though she teams up with an older player). I highly recommend the game, especially for families with children in a wide age range.

One of the three card types does involve bidding to see who thinks they can find the most of an item - the person with the highest bid has to try to find that many. There is a flaw in that there is no disincentive to bid a very high number just to prevent anyone else from trying. My family worked around this with a simple rule modification - if a person doesn't find the number they bid then they lose their next turn and can't bid again (if that card type is drawn) until their turn has been skipped. The fact that this isn't written in the original rules shouldn't prevent anyone from enjoying the game.

Ok, so the game is fun. I was a little disappointed, for the regular price, that the quality was not a bit better than it is. That said, I snagged this for half price on Black Friday, so I guess it was worth that much.

It's fun enough. When we play, we do enjoy ourselves. My primary beef with the game is the 'artwork'. I can deal with all the weird creatures and such, but my complaint is the gross/vulgar factor. Piles of poop, swirling with flies; creatures passing gas (yes, from the rear); smelly feet - really, Hasbro? Was all that necessary?

I realize some people (and children) might find this hilarious, but in our family, we just found it unnecessarily gross and vulgar. It didn't need that to be fun. So, I'd just throw that out as a heads-up to other families who might be unhappy to find these themes in a child's game.

I, too, feel the need to share my opinion because of a very negative review of this game. My 6 year old LOVES it. My sister, who is 18 and lives with us, also likes to play it. We like seek and find type games, so this is a great one that lets everyone play together.

As for the card and betting....

There are 3 sets of cards: blue, green, and red. The betting comes into play only if the die lands on red. Your betting isn't supposed to go on infinitely. You bet up until 6. So let's say that you roll a red and think that you can find 4 of whatever is on the card (maybe it's "things that you can plug in") and then someone else says he/she can find 5. That person then has to find 5 "things that plug in" before the timer is up. If someone thinks he/she can find 6, well obviously, that is the max bet, and he/she has to find that many.

It's an easy to follow game, if you actually read the short directions.

It can be changed a little, too. Some cards say to flip a tile and others tell you to turn one, which helps keep the game fresh.

You win by holding onto each card whose item you found. I believe the first person to collect 5 wins, but that can be altered, too.

I hope this review helps. I really don't know why that person had such a hard time playing.

It seems that this game is either really enjoyed or not by people. Personally, my family has a lot of fun with it. My kids (ages 7 and 9) think it's great fun and they always want to keep playing once the game is over. They love that their young eyes can find things faster than mom & dad's. I've played with lots of nieces and nephews and they've all enjoyed this game!

I bought this game for Christmas for my kids (9, 7, 5) and it has been a big hit! I paid under five dollars (so very happy) but the game is great for all ages. My 5 year old can easily compete against my 9 year old - so it's nice that it can be played by all. The pictures can be a little strange. . but they find them entertaining.

This is one of our favorite games. We have been playing it for a few years, so I would say my son was about five when we first began playing. We laugh together as we play, and that is nice - no electronics involved, so no batteries. (Wow!) I would recommend this game for any family. It is changeable as the boards can be flipped to the other side, so each game can be different.

I like this game and there are many different ways to play. I just wish they would have done something better with the "pictures". I don't really care for the style on it. I get that it needs to be confusing to be hard to find each item, but seems sort of "dark" and lack of a better word....weird! Other than the designs they chose, the games it'self is fun and very quick. We sat down for a family game ( my husband and I and 8yr old. ) and we played several rounds of games and tried out different ones. They have like 3 main games you can choose from and different boards you can use for each one OR you can use ALL the boards. I like that a lot because it switches things up for you, so your not easily board. Although the cards they came with, weren't enough, since we play so many rounds in one setting, I think after 5 games we will know where everything is and be bored....but well see.

I found out after I purchased this item that they have a disney one! I would have much rather gone with that one, than this one. I would have love to see all those characters and design, rather than these weird ones. But for now it's fine, I am not gonna run out and spend $17 just to get the Disney version. I will wait for it to go on sale. :)
