I've never been a big fan of the game "Sorry!" I found it a little boring... maybe it's because I had my own copy of "Trouble" and "Sorry!" seemed like a scaled-down version. (Not really sure, to be honest...) Disney, however, actually made the game fun for me. I'm a 32-year-old Dad and my daughter is 6. She loves it and I really don't mind playing it with her two or three times in a row.Disney has taken the original rules and developed some special cards that benefit each color. First let me explain a bit about the game itself... Special cards -- there are certain cards, when you draw them, that allow you to do special things IF you happen to be the matching color on the card. If you are blue and draw a blue three, you have the option of drawing the next three cards and picking the one you want to use. If you draw a green eight and you are green, you have the option of moving TWO characters 8 spaces. A matching 12 in your color will send one of your tokens (the one furthest along) HOME safe. There are more, but hopefully you get the idea. My daughter is 6, but seems able to grasp all the rules and has great fun teaching her friends to play. As far as the cardboard characters coming of the bases is concerned, we haven't really had that problem. I'm not sure why - maybe we just push them into the bases harder than some of the other folks here that have posted reviews. Anyway, my advice: a great game for parents to play with the kids. Just remember, you don't HAVE to TRY and win! :)

I love Disney. I love the game "Sorry!". So I figured if they combined these two, it would be a great game! I received it for Christmas and as soon as I got it, opened the box and started setting up the game.It is very similar to the classic "Sorry!" but with a harder to interpret board (very nice graphic use, but harder on the eyes than the standard), harder to move pieces (they are very large and the stands fall off of the cardboard bases very easily) and of course, variations on characters and cards. I love the characters and how they seperated them (Heros, Villains, Girls, Animals) and the overall concept idea of the board and pieces is wonderful, but as cute as it is to look at, I would much rather play the original game, with a simple design that keeps the game fun and easy :) The coolest additional feature to the game would be extra "actions" on the cards, such as: If you are a green character, you can move your leading piece to Home or move forward 8 spaces. (May not be exact phrasing on cards, but you catch my drift). It makes it interesting because you never know if you get a special bonus :) All-in-all, I give this game 3 1/2 stars - At least 3 because it's "Sorry!", which is one of my all-time favorite board games; and also because it's Disney! However, functionality and durability leave something to be desired..

Of course, the Disney title caught our eye. Since we own the majority of all Disney DVDs, it seemed natural to purchase the Sorry! Disney for our 5 year old.The rules are pretty much the same as the traditional game of Sorry! There are some special moves thrown in that doesn't add any additional fun. Our biggest complaint is the pieces. There are cardboard cutouts of Disney charactures that stick into a base piece. They keep falling out and it adds unnecessary height to the pieces. My daughter kept knocking them over. My advice--stick with the regular Sorry!, there's no Disney magic here.

My daughter loves the characters so it was nice to get a Disney Sorry game. However, the playing pieces are the type of cardboard that fit into the plastic slots. :P The characters would come out of the plastic parts every time we moved them. I finally put a small piece of tape at the bottom to make sure it would stay put.

Well, it is certainly an interesting idea to take "Sorry!", the classic game of "sweet revenge," and throw into the mix beloved Disney characters like Snow White, the Little Mermaid, and Bambi (not to mention Cruella De Vil). Because young children tend not to enjoy having their pawns sent back to the beginning, my rating has to reflect the idea that this game is not as much fun as it is educational. In former days, that is to say once upon a time, I would have been more critical of this game, dismissing it with the idea that it teaches the great lesson that no one promised fair in life, but I now have a greater appreciation for the game's value. "Sorry!" is based on the game of Parcheesi, with players moving their four colored pawns around the board from their starting point to home. Movement is determined by drawing cards with values from one through twelve, but most of the cards have strategic values as well: You need an one or a two to initially move out, a four sends you backwards, a seven can be split between two pawns, etc. Meanwhile, six and nine have been omitted to provide the opportunity for your pawns to find (temporary) safe havens on the board. In other words, the strategy involved using the cards is fairly complex and playing this game repeatedly (is there any other way?) allows children to begin seeing "the whole board" and thinking through the multiple options that each card drawn presents to them in the course of the game. Like most kids, I hated this game the first time I played it because of the joy that the more experienced players took in sending my pawns back to the start. But then I discovered how to do the same to them and the fun began. Eventually you master this game and grow tired of it, but hopefully by then you might have an appreciation for how much you learned about basic game playing strategy. "Sorry!" really is the board game that reminds me most of chess in terms of the importance of stragey and the multiple movement options.

My son received this for his 5th birthday!
And it has been a hit with all of us! WE are all big game fans! I love the special cards. It really starts to teach kids strategy in game play. I love how they grouped the characters: villians, heros, Disney girls and Disney animals. And once in awhile when we want to play a shorter game we only play with 2 or 3 characters a piece instead of 4. Any time we have had a minor question the rules have an explaination, no guesswork!

I bought Disney Sorry for my son last Christmas. He was 6 at the time. It was a big hit as he is a big Disney fan. I grew up playing the orginal Sorry, and enjoy this version much more. It's the same game, but the Disney Characters make it more fun for some reason. We are still playing with it a year later and it is in good condition.

Okay - I agree that the playing pieces could be better. It would help if they were encased in plastic as they are in the Disney Princess Spinning Wishes Game. But just tell your kids to be careful and not to bend them and you'll be just fine. You get a group of 4 characters to take around the board. One group is villians, another includes Disney animals (Dumbo, Bambi, etc.), another is Princesses and the last group includes Disney Heroes (Hercules and more). The characters add a lot of fun and energy to the game. If your kids like Disney, they will like this. Worth the time, in my opinion.

Our family has always loved the game "Sorry!" - the kids also really like anything Disney. So when I saw this Disney Sorry! game at the store, I was thrilled! The fact that it was a few dollars more than original Sorry! didn't bother me. I was so disappointed when I brought it home to find that the game pieces that you move around the board are made of cardboard and have to be attached to little plastic pieces to stand up. Boy, for a few bucks more the makers of Sorry! could have made some nice game pieces (similar to Monopoly, maybe) that wouldn't get lost or torn. This was a great idea, done on the cheap.

I would recommend this game to any one that likes the orignal Sorry game. A few tips though, to make the characters stay on thier stands I would recommend a drop of glue, and play it on a smooth sturdy surfaces as the game pieces can be tippy.
