5.0 out of 5 stars More fun that it looks!`
My 4 year old son really wanted this after seeing it in TV. I got it from Amazon but didn't think it looked like much fun. Well our entire family has been playing it since we got it. There are different games to play and you don't need two players for all of them. Really a very fun game. The fact that we're still playing with it several weeks later while all the $50...

2.0 out of 5 stars Threw it away in less than a year
My mom gave this to my middle child for his 5th birthday last year. Older sister was bored with it; younger brother couldn't make it work at all. It was kind of fun, but the 5yr old had a hard time making it work and the metal "balls" go everywhere. They are heavy/solid balls of some kind of metal. Not good to have flying around. And before long they were all over my...

I got this toy for my seven year old, and I had to go buy another one because my three year old wanted to play it all the time too. It is a great toy. It really keeps the kids intrested and it is a lot of fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars addiction, August 10, 2009

This game is ridiculous, I got it from my sister-in-law for my birthday (28th). I initially thought why on earth would she get me this, but she explained that there was one at an office where she worked and it would shut down people's productivity on a daily basis. I am now fully addicted to this game as are most of my friends, I would recommend this thing to anyone 100%.

It's so addictive, I can't stop playing. I am considering picking up a drug habit to draw me away from it.

I stumbled upon this gift idea thanks to the reviewers that preceded me. I bought it for my 6-year-old son, but like others have found, the whole family has enjoyed playing this arcade-type game. The game has satisfying feedback for sight and sound -- bright LEDs light up when you hit a single, double, triple (homeruns circle the bases), and the voice announcer tells what's happening during the game with a little variation so the announcer's voice isn't too tiring to listen to.

I liked that the eight steel balls are stowed in a little nook underneath the game -- with kids, those balls would be gone in a day if they couldn't be stowed with the game unit.

As others have noted, this game unit plays a few other games besides a regular nine-inning game. That's added fun.

I think it would have been better to have an LED scoreboard showing the inning and the score. You have to rely on the announcer's voice to keep track of the game. Also, the only fragile part of the game is the little trampoline -- if it rips or tears, the game is history, and I don't see anything about how to order a replacement trampoline. It'd be a shame to toss a $25 game because the trampoline ripped or had a hole poked through it.

In all, this was a good value for the money. I bet college students who like baseball would enjoy a game like this, as well as the younger kids. The game has a great blend of skill and luck so it can really fuel competitiveness among the players.

5.0 out of 5 stars We love it... I suck!, December 29, 2008

So we bought this for the kids for Christmas... or so we claimed to one another! The truth was we had our eyes on it because we were planning to compete against one another. It is nice and compact and the announcer is great. I truly suck though! I can't seem to hit the right spot on the little red springy fabric. My husband gets runs all the time!

The bad... when those little metal marbles riquochet, hitting the table or glass platters on the dining room table. Not a good thing. Or when you loose a marble under the couch.

I didn't receive 10 metal balls... only 8; and the box claims to only have to contain 8 balls!

The good...

Automatic scoring and timer tracks your scores and home runs.

Features 4 different games and a convenient storage tray that is discretely hidden underneath.

Games inlcude:
* Home Run Hot Shot (Our favorite!!)
* Half-Inning Rally
* 30 Seconds at Bat (Nerve racking with the clock running down)
* 9 Inning Match-Up

Our eldest is 6 and we wouldn't trust her with the metal balls flying all over the house. Maybe in 2 years.

For the money you can't find a better game to entertain a couple of kids during a family gathering. Anyone who loves baseball will enjoy this and especially the sound effects. It kept our boys and friends entertained during the holiday gatherings and was worth every penny. Even the grown men liked it. Easy to use pinball type game. Recommended for gift giving.

I have to admit, just looking at this game online I wasn't fully convinced that it would be all that fun. However, my 5 year old wanted it and was persistant, so I finally caved- so glad I did! We've all been playing it for the past few weeks and it's simple but fun enough for us all to play. It's very addictive! Nick took to it very well, but my 5 year old niece had some trouble with it...still, a very fun toy overall and a great purchase for the price.
