5.0 out of 5 stars Much More Fun Than Anticipated!
This game was a birthday gift for my seven year old twin sons. As I've been through many a superhero game I figured we were in for the same old routine - directions that were overly complicated and way too much strategy for my young boys. To my surprise the entire family enjoyed this game (as is - with no direction modification)and the boys want to play it over and over...

3.0 out of 5 stars Hulk Smash Game
My son liked the toy but I thought it was awful. It is a messy game and you have to repeatedly make game pieces with the play-doh. I wouldn't recommend it. I'm glad I bought it on sale and paid very little for it.

This game was a birthday gift for my seven year old twin sons. To my surprise the entire family enjoyed this game (as is - with no direction modification)and the boys want to play it over and over.

Basically each player makes two pawns out of clay and trys to get both to the finish line without being smooshed by the hulk fist (which goes into play when you roll a hulk on the dice). There are several different ways to be squashed (decided by a card draw) - either by the color square you are on or by a building collapse nearby. So much fun! I highly recommend for young boys (no reading necessary!)

My four year old loves this. If you have a boy who enjoys smashing things (and what boy doesn't), this game will be a big hit. Just be warned that you will be asked to play it often, and there is a lot of prep work involved before you can start the game. Also, one round took three of us around 45 minutes to complete. If you're not patient with prep work and don't like a game that can be drawn out, this might not be for you.

My son is six and he loves the game. Our family even loves to play the game with him. I think the fact they can smash something with permission is fun to them too.

My seven year old son loves this game. I think it may be his favorite Christmas present. He laughs so much while playing this and our family enjoys it as well. He also gets to practice his addition because he must add the numbers on the pair of dice to determine the spaces to move ahead. I would recommend this game to any child who loves playdoh or Hulk. Lots of fun!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Smashing Fun!, May 2, 2009
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars

I bought this on clearance at Toys R Us and discovered it was so much fun, I would have gladly paid full price.

Pros:
ALL the kids (and adults) can play and have a good time (who doesn't love smashing stuff?)
Easy directions and after first use set up
No batteries or electronics
Sound effects provided by game players make it even more fun
Kids played even after the game was over (remaking and smashing more cars, trucks, tanks and planes

Cons:
*Initial set-up takes a while (have to fold buildings together and some younger children could become impatient - ok, I was impatient).
*The building card means that you are allowed to destroy a building - my problem with this is that if you let the kids use the hammer to destroy the building, you really can't put it together as well the next time. We had some goof ups trying to make it sound very destructive while CAREFULLY breaking the building apart. I am sure with more breakdowns and setups, it will get easier. We just made lots of loud destruction sounds to compensate.
*Not so much a con, but before you really get going with the game, I would make several of each colored pawn to start. We only made two to begin with and had to make many more during the course of the game. This helps drag out the game if you want, otherwise, a little prep will shorten the game for faster action.

Overall, I would say this is one of the best games I have bought in a long time. As a matter of fact, I don't recall the last time I reviewed a board game for the kids, and we have a TON! Definitely buy this one - you won't be sorry!

4.0 out of 5 stars Smashing Good Fun!, December 26, 2009
= Durability:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:3.0 out of 5 stars

Ordered this for my 4 year old son (almost five) for Christmas, and it is a hit! Gameplay is pretty simple and could be appropriate for kids as young as 4 depending upon their maturity and ability - necessary skills include counting, taking turns, following instructions, and not getting upset when others smash your playing pieces! Each player makes his or her playing pieces using the included playdoh and mold, which is fun in and of itself. The board uses a simple layout of colored playing spaces set along a winding one-way path around the board. Cardboard buildings are set along the path at specified intervals. The object of the game is to be the first player to navigate two playing pieces from the starting space to the finish line. Players roll two dice with numbered sides that also have a couple of Hulk "fist" sides which allow the player to pick up a "smash" card. Numbers determine how many spaces the player moves, and the smash cards instruct the player to smash certain playing pieces. Sometimes the player is permitted to choose which playing pieces to smash, other times the cards dictate the results. It is great fun to smash the pieces, and sometimes you even have to smash your own pieces! During the game players make new pieces to replaces ones that have been destroyed and the smashed ones stay on the board - by the end of the game the visible carnage of flattened playdoh is a real hoot. Hulk Smash is surprisingly fun for both kids and their parents and would make a great game to transition kids from the simplest games like Candyland or Hi Ho Cherry O to more complex games.

This is a very fun family game. Really not much educational value, but it is a quick, fun game that even the younger kids in the family can play. The only concerns/complaints that we have are the buildings you put in the middle of the board are cardboard and worry that after time they may break apart and the airplane mold is a little hard to make. Other than that, we enjoy the game a lot.

My mom got this game for my son as a present last year. We play it at least once a week and it is so much FUN! Yes it's more of a boy toy but I see my friends playing this as well (we are just a bunch of big kids).

I bought this game for my 6 year old, and we played it for a long time. The point of the game is that you roll the die and move around the board, and you by chance may roll the smash dice. When this happens, you draw a card to see who gets smashed. When you are smashed, you reconstruct your vehicle and go to start again. We played it for about 45 mins and I could tell it was never going to end. It might work better with three or four players, but it was just us two so we never got but half way across the board. Overall it was pretty entertaining, and my son loved the smashing part. He is also a Hulk Fan which makes it hard to find Hulk toys nowadays since everything is Green Hornet, Transformers, and still to my amazement, Spiderman. Its cute and not too pricy so worth it to have as an alternative to Nintendo, Wii and the TV.

Great Game for a six year old boy who loves the Incredible Hulk. He enjoys the big fist coming down on the other guys man and making a mess. It involves some counting and that helps with his learning as a kindergarten. Most of his friend love the game also.
