Now everyone can enjoy the classic game of Yahtzee in a nifty electronic version. Small enough to fit in your hand, this addictive game lets you "roll" the dice with the click of a button. Press "hold" to keep the ones you want, and then roll again. Get 5 of a kind, and you've got "Yahtzee." A row of options at the top ("3 of a kind," "small straight," etc.) is available to select preferred scoring for each round. like the original, this fun game can be a bit noisy with its sound effects and victory song, but it does include a silence feature. --Tom Keogh

I've always loved yahtzee, and this particular game is both easy to use and a lot of fun. And it's so easy to carry anywhere - I've played while waiting for dinner to cook, on the subway, in the car... any place I end up waiting. It's incredibly durable was well - in fact, I'm pleasantly surprised by how well it's held up, particularly considering my lack of coordination and the fact that I may have dropped it, oh, once or twice or... many more times.
For anyone who likes yahtzee, who likes games and/or who gets bored having to wait, this is the solution! You can take it with you for a fun, easy, entertaining game that will help pass the time in an enjoyable way. The only problem is that it's quite addictive....

This is a great game! I carry my Yahtzee with me in my purse so that I'm not trapped with nothing to do in long lines or waiting in the doctor's office. Being able to turn off the sound is an excellent feature so that you are not annoying others in the area. In fact this is a feature that I look for when purchasing a hand held game either for myself of someone else. It is compact but don't let it's size fool you! The screen is easy to read. The printout very bold and bright. The automatic shut-down feature is great since you won't wear out the batteries. This hand held game is also easy on batteries. The game is easy to figure out and all of the controls are clearly labeled. The buttons are spaced nicely so there is no accidental pressing of the wrong button. It is a great game for the individual and that would be its only real negative. Like the real version of Yahtzee you play in teams with each player taking a turn. This hand held version is a one player game. I think that this is such a teriffic game that I recently game one to my nephew while he is in the hospital.

My grandmother gave this to me for a Christmas gift, and it's quite addictive. The game plays just like Yahtzee and is very easy to learn. It's very durable, and turns itself off after a short time of inactivity, to conserve the battery. I did manage to rack a score of 526, to which my grandmother claimed she got over six hundred, to which I said she was a lying sack. (I was just teasing her, as I know she is a very honest woman and I am sure she got me the game after she got over 600 points on her game just to watch me try and beat her score, knowing I probably wouldn't.)
Anyway, a couple of nice features is the game displays the score, if any, of the current dice configuration as you move across the screen to decide where to best put your roll total. The game also allows you to turn the sound off as the noise of the electronic dice 'rolling' does become annoying after awhile. And the game will save the highest score in memory for as long as the single AAA battery lasts.

If you, like me, have fond memories of playing Yahtzee and Triple Yahtzee (the difference? Yahtzee had a black dice cup, Triple had a blue one, and the stakes were higher) back in the 70's, you will love this handheld game. It plays just like the game version except no pads, no short pencils, no dice cup!
This version is perfect for traveling. It will make a plane trip fly by, and we've all had those nights on the road when we'd love to play a game but we're all alone and solitaire on the laptop has lost its appeal. It's lightweight and is quite durable-mine rattles around the bottom of my briefcase and I've dropped it once or twice, and nary a dent or scratch.
Long battery life too! I've had mine for a few years and I've only changed batteries twice.
It's a lot of fun for the price. If people look at you funny, tell them it's the latest Palm Pilot.

This hand-held game is just the same as the real thing, and its easy to convert. I'll explain the game Yahtzee; if you've played, skip to ////////. Yahtzee is played with five dice, which are rolled to form various point-making combinations. You have three rolls, and after each, any dice may be kept. Some combinations are full-house, small straight, and chance. Bonus points can be awarded for getting enough points in the top half. A pretty good game to play alone, but better with others. //////// The hand-held game has a button to roll, 5 buttons to hold dice, and left/right arrows to select categories (full-house, small straight, chance, etc.) on the screen. It doesn't support multiplayer games, so you'll have to break them up into separate one-player games. In summary, if you like the game, you'll love the hand-held version.

I wasn't too thrilled with the idea of turning my favorite dice game into a handheld, but the game is surprisingly entertaining. For whatever reason, it is impossible to put it down. My 6-year old daughter, my 70+ year old parents, my brother-in-law and myself all got hooked on it during our vacation.

The electronic yahtzee game is absolutely addictive. My father-in-law got one first and then my husband had to have one. Of course at this point I also got hooked. Even our young children like to "play" with it to watch the dice and hear the noises even though they are too young to actually grasp the concept of the game. I highly recommend it although you may never get anything else done!
