It is too hard to be fun and the gameplay does not flow.

I will say that if you're having a party, Cuponk is a great party game with or without alcohol, and if your friends are at all competitive, this game is hilarious.
Jas Rock
Finally, Mattel has manufactured a cup and some ping pong balls!

I got Cuponk! from a friend and the second my oldest son (12) saw it in the car he opened it. It didn't look like anything he had seen so he was dying to try it out. We were actually on our way to grandma's and when we arrived he began to play with it immediately. He got his 7 y/o sister into the game too. They had so much fun that I was able to visit with my mom without one interruption! I saw my son with it on his head and his sister watching intensely to see if he could make it. They laughed over and over as they tried to bounce the ball off different objects in grandma's house. The ball is so lightweight I wasn't even worried about them breaking anything. When it was time to go they put everything in the container and off we went. At home with all his friends and brother (10) it was the same thing.....kids cracking up as they tried all kinds of combinations. It's cool because they can use the cards for ideas or just do their own thing. My middle son is very into science so he tries to make a perfect set up. The oldest is wild and just goes for it. They love to challenge each other for some healthy brotherly competition. They even involve their sister and use her toys to bounce off. My oldest son said to me....I love this thing, it makes you want to keep trying new things! The Cuponk encourages them be active, use their imagination, create new "courses" and be competitive. All around its been a hit at our house!

Here's the deal. Cuponk is a plastic cup that has a place for you to stick 3 X AAA batteries in the base to power the game's lights and sounds. The lights and sounds play when you land one of the two included ping pong balls in the cup. That's all there is to it. It comes with a cheap, unnecessary cardboard backdrop that my 5 year old uses when we play against each other, but it's nothing fancy, and probably won't last long with repeated use.

For what it's worth, the naysayers are right. You can do exactly the same thing with a plastic cup and a standard box of ping pong balls...almost. The cup is fairly heavy plastic, and has a ridged, padded interior to help prevent spin outs and bounce outs. The aforementioned batteries and their associated whirligigs keep the cup from tipping over when hit hard by a long range shot. You also get the added bonus of the trick cards, which give you a set of challenges to perform and a couple of games to play with your friends. They're right about the balls, though...they're just ping pong balls, although I am a fan of the artwork printed on them.

The "Beer Pong For Kids" argument is irrelevant. Apart from the core mechanics the two have nothing whatsoever in common. I will say that if you're having a party, Cuponk is a great party game with or without alcohol, and if your friends are at all competitive, this game is hilarious. On the other hand, it's also a great way for kids to learn about physics and engineering. Check out YouTube for some great video of a couple of kids doing some crazy ramp shots on some home-made inclines.

So, if you like the idea of bouncing a ping pong ball off the table, into the wall, back to the table and into the cup, Cuponk is your game. If that all sound silly, then don't get it. Easy choice.

I work with 1st graders and this was a great filler toy to keep them entertained in between activities. Older children and adults could get sucked into this simple game as well with some of the more challenging bounces.

My sons each got one of these from their grandparents for Christmas. They got a lot of toys so we didn't open them until today. My boys got tired of them in about 5 minutes. I can't understand the premise for this game other than it will make for a great Beer Pong player in the future. How about selling an upgraded version with a tube and a funnel?

I was not impressed with this item. The supplier goes to the expense of adding electronics to a cup, but then includes a cheap cardboard backboard that doesn't stay in place. Some of the challenges are extremely difficult to impossible. I'd recommend having your kids create their own version with a solo cup and some ping pong balls!

It's a cup and two ping pong balls but my grandson certainly enjoys it. His two older cousins (teenagers) also had a good time playing with it.

I think that my 8 yr old son enjoys this game with making his own shots but the shots that you are supposed to make seem almost impossible. It seems more like an adult drinking game.
